AppleTV 'set top box'.
I hate it when it must be referred to as a 'set top box' in order to differentiate it from the release of an actual Apple television (which will never be released...)
FFS.
Those television rumours were the worst in Apple's history. No proof whatsoever. Fandom run amok. Jobs makes one statement about really solving the problem of horrid TV interfaces/menus and suddenly we're off to the races.
God, I miss Steve.

I'm just hoping for a serious UI overhaul. I've hidden a bunch of apps I will never want to watch but they keep adding more shit I will never watch and the clutter is deep.
And I’m tired of hearing about the partnership with Time Warner because they are a regional company and more importantly not in my region.
Sounds like Comcast is one of the old world order companies that wants to stick it to Apple now that Jobs is dead. I’m also tired of these companies thinking Apple screwed the music industry with their iTunes deal when the music industry is a hell of a lot better off than if Apple didn’t develop the iTunes store. They’ve screwed artists out of 98% of the profits their entire history without hesitation, but Apple takes 30% of just song sales (of which the industry has zero distribution overhead) and they think that is outrageous in hindsight.
Sidenote: Since Eddie Cue has been getting more stage time since Jobs' death, he really does seem like a sleazeball and I wonder how he pulled off all those great deals for Apple. But then again, like minds?

I checked out the Beatles app on the Apple TV which is currently only the video of their American debut on the Ed Sullivan show. I didn’t realize they played 6 songs….and how mannish looking the screaming teenaged girls were back then.

And Comcast announced today they are buying Time Warner cable.

But does that mean Apple’s negotiations are over with Time Warner or they’re just going to continue under Comcast? Is this a good thing or is it like Google buying Nest? I’m sure Apple and Comcast didn’t completely piss each other off cause they knew sooner or later they will have to deal with each other again. At least I hope they had that foresight.
Goddamnit, I wish I was back in my 20’s when I didn’t give a shit about the back room dealings and future roadmaps and only cared about the awesomeness in front of me at the moment.

I'm guessing that Comcast will continue talks with Apple.
Still hoping that Apple just buys the fuckers outright and gets down to business.
Navigating through 8 apps across the XBox and AppleTV platforms just to find one fucking thing is

I just hope this doesn’t result in a further clusterfuck of apps and instead is a more streamlined and intelligent reworking of the guide that already exists on cable boxes. Network or channel specific apps should be more like bonus content you get on DVDs, not the only way to access channels. I’m sure to sweeten the deal Apple is offering to host whatever content is available for streaming or on demand. They already have the server farms for it.
I already get constant mail from Comcast offering to bundle my portable devices so I’m sure an included Apple TV will be part of package deals down the road but I don’t have faith that they would go to the extent of completely axing their crappy boxes if you get an Apple TV through them instead. They’d lose way too much revenue on long paid off antiquated boxes that people are just too lazy to turn in for a free upgrade.
Lastly WHEN THE FUCK IS HD GOING TO STOP BEING CONSIDERED EXOTIC AND WORTHY OF AN EXTRA CHARGE?!?

i hate cable companies
on a happier note... i downloaded the Genius app from the appstore to my iPhone this morning. it has the lyrics to every song i've looked up so far and has notations about the meanings of a fucking lot of the lyrics. it can pull the songs right from your device/iTunes purchases or you can search online. i highly recommend it at this point. even though it has a Daft Punk song listed as "rock"

This would be perfect for me...
If the top rear charger wasn't the old 30-pin connection. FFS.

Apple Pro Training Series: Logic Pro X: Professional Music Production book
Kindle Edition: $27.50
iBooks Edition: $54.99
WTF. FFS. So much not right about that.
But I'm willing to bet that Amazon is willing to take an even bigger loss than normal on an ebook about anything Apple just to stick it to them.
And I'm going to help the sticking it.
