I don’t get too fancy with iBooks but I like the way you can have multiple colors for highlights on the Kindle app, especially for a tutorial book. I can use one color for just shortcut references. :) I don't remember that option on iBooks.

And given the price differences on some books, especially the above, I think my loyalty to Apple stops there. It's just kind of annoying you can't shop for books with the app. :x

Yeah the price differences can be pretty ridiculous. I buy quite a few books, mostly scholarly or technical music stuff, and will even buy an ebook version of a book I already own as a hard copy so I have it on the go. It's seriously lame when the ebook version costs just as much or more than the hard copy did.

I don’t know how Apple got a guilty verdict on ebook price fixing when clearly they are more expensive than Amazon and as far as I know always have been.

I was reluctant to get the ebook version of the Logic book because I thought it would be more practical to have a hardcopy to quickly reference, but I then realized using digital highlights with tagging and notes would be more practical than a hardcopy highlighted up with post-its stuck in it all over the place.

I could also see how a larger iPad might be better for this purpose.

Apple rumored to be working on technology that predicts heart attacks. I’m going to say FUCK NO to that. That’s going to open the door for massive lawsuits when it doesn’t do that with 100% accuracy. :x

And I'm going to help the sticking it. :x
feel free to take the sticking it even further by sending me your copy of Apple Pro Training Series: Logic Pro 9.

Through the use of black velcro straps I’ve almost achieved the perfect open space cordless (looking) production desk worthy of an iMac

Just need to get one more extension cord so I can move the power strip to the right corner behind the shredder. :x

Now Amazon is planning to throw a streaming media box out on the market. Cable haters love to complain about bundles and paying for channels they never watch, but it’s quickly going to become even more of a mess with distribution rights and original content between Netflix, Apple, Amazon, Hulu, Microsoft, etc. Sure it’s all probably going to cost less than your cable bill but you’re going to have 4 monthly subscriptions and 3 boxes in order to take advantage of it all. :x

^ they all have the same thing anyway... Roku has Amazon Prime... and Apple TV doesn't... so there are a few apps out there that make one box, console, player, set, etc. and no another... but they all pretty much have damn near everything or something comparable. i don't think Amazon is going to be a game changer in this avenue.

The Roku 3 box looks quite promising, especially since I see it has Plex which I could use to access my iTunes library. Don’t know what I would use to rent movies though. Redbox app? They’d probably be the best contender for getting as many services as possible too since there’s no conflict of interest with some other business division they have.

Set up looks nice Beats, I'm a big fan of hidden cables.

:) Thanks. It really is hideous when you have a desk that doesn’t have a back to hide your disorganization. In the process I also got rid of 2 power strips and about 10 other cables that weren’t connected to anything.

There’s also something inspiring, or I guess less distracting, about a clean working space. Also no need to have hardware setup you never really use “just in case”. If that “just in case” hasn’t happened in over six months shelve it out of sight if possible.

My desk is like my work bench, easy enough to just grab whatever I want to use that day and hook it up. Otherwise, out of sight, out of mind :)

Make sure to post a picture of your setup in this thread when you get your Electric Boogaloo speakers setup. :)

2. WHERE'S THE FUCKING iPAD?
