I'm converting to iWork. I refuse to pay for a 365 subscription.

It has voice search? So not made for finding porn with others in the home!

All I know is Apple really needs to step things up with their next Apple TV. I’m not going to run out and buy a competitor product right now but I’m sure people who don’t have a stream box yet will find these other boxes attractive.
It’s somewhat reminding me of all these competitors busting out all these smart watches all of a sudden before Apple does, but I’m sure Apple has something more refined and “magical” planned for a watch. Apple TV streams content. There’s really not much wizardry that needs to be sorted out. A 5-year-old could come up with some basic improvements to the current Apple TV.

So Gary Busey's Amazon FireTV commercial won't suck you in?

Liked the Busey commercial, but didn't sell me.
Watched the announcement and wow it was sad. The presenters kept pausing for applause that never happened and instead got low laughs because nobody was applauding.
I love the fact that nobody has used the Fire TV yet and there are already 43 reviews with varying star rates. The 1 star reviews are mostly Apple fanboys or people complaining there’s no HBOGO (HBO really needs to cut the cord with the cable providers. They could make a killing with a monthly subscription directly to them). One reviewer even complained about people complaining about something they haven’t used yet…and they gave their complaining about complaining review 5 stars.

I'm gonna have to research and keep my eye on that; could be a good xmas present for the elders.

I’m more of a casual gamer and even on my PS4 I’ve played more indie developer games than AAA games, but I’m not all that interested in playing portable device quality games on my TV. I’m sure the next Apple TV will have game capabilities, but I’m going to find it sad if at best it’s going to be a bunch of cheap AAA knockoff artist Gameloft games. I can see how that will be appealing to people on a budget, but still sad. The racing game they demoed for the Fire TV looked pathetic, as if just having the same basic mechanics makes for a great game.

I tooled around on Logic last night starting with the Soundtrack and Orchestral templates. Didn’t record anything but they had some good sound selections as a starting point and introduced me to some common instruments I probably wouldn’t have found myself if I started from scratch. Also they are pre-EQed and have effects sends that will work well together.

I didn’t know when using the iOS Remote app with the Apple TV you can tell it with your voice what to search for.
But I also can’t think of the last time I searched for anything on my Apple TV.
Should probably try it out instead of the scroll-fest though.

If Apple was Samsung or Microsoft they’d launch a massive campaign about how you can also control the Apple TV with your voice and your iPhone. I don’t think Apple has done a commercial for the Apple TV ever. Could be wrong though.
