I watched the demo video of the CarPlay stereo in a Ferrari. That thing doesn’t look or work much better than the stereo in my Toyota. The screen isn’t multi-touch or swipe scroll either. In a Ferrari FFS.

This week several car stereo manufactures have announced that aftermarket CarPlay stereos are in the works. They are expected to cost $500-$700. Just a goddamn minute. A 16G iPad Mini is only $400 and from what I’ve seen is way more functional than the existing CarPlay stereos. And you wouldn’t even need a drive that big because most of the content is streamed from your iPhone or iPod.

There’s aftermarket “dumb” car stereos that cost $100. So let’s say let’s just put $100 towards just the amplifier. The rest of the $400-$600 would go towards iOS functionality and it sure as fuck should be just as functional as an iPad Mini.

at the layout of the steering wheel controls for my iPod/stereo. In the center are up and down buttons that are advance track or previous track. Above the advance track is volume up and below the previous track is volume down. So I’m rolling up on a honey and need to kick up the volume, but no, I accidently hit the advance track button. FUCK!! She was The One!!!!

People are still losing their shit when a brand new app doesn’t work on an iPad 1. This is what happens when Apple makes things affordable (everybody thought the iPad was going to have a base price of $1,000). And no doubt these whiners probably got their iPad 1 when the 2 came out and saved $100.

On that note, I took my 74-year-old aunt to the Los Gatos Apple store to get her first iPad. That’s right, the Los Gatos Apple store, the store Woz frequently visits from his house via his Segway, possibly the only man on earth who isn’t a douche (or mall cop) on a Segway.

Anyhow, the blue shirt was very helpful and I did my best to not cut him off with “I know, bro.” He mentioned Woz visits. He actually tried to down sell my aunt to an iPad 4 based on her needs, but given the fact that she’s rocking a 10-year-old PC that chokes just trying to load the letters on the Google homepage she’s probably not going to get another iPad anytime soon. We walked out of there with a 32G cellular iPad Air with a Logitech keyboard/stand.

Apple is doing a 1 to 7 stock split in June.



Ironically Apple known for high priced products will have one of the more affordable successful tech company stocks.

Every tech blogger and reporter are saying that Microsoft's Cortana and Google's Now are going to be infinitely better than Siri.
