O'C UPDATE: Hit 5%
CPU Rock solid at 5% during test for long periods of time. Only slight O'c to 3.0Ghz on AMD FX62 dual core. Chips cool hovering at 34C (on air). Tried everything possible on my other PC machine and my Mac to reach this number to no avail. Happy with result with this box.

3) XP SP2 BOOTCAMP
4) INTEL dual 2.33GH
5) 2GB
6) TC Konnekt 24D
7) 1 internal 5400 120g
wanted to make a fx teleport using both, but live owns plugz are not vst,
otherwise i should have reached less than 5percent.
Note for LAtptop user: you shoud check "always active " in windows baterry preference, otherwise some chips like mine just run half speed (at first i was at 30percent, then I noticed that it was faster while de raring something!!!!
cause the cpu was in sleep , and when it reach more than x it goes full speed.
also check you re plugged on.
Maybe you will notice your cpu is twice faster you thought!!!

Why the hell is the macbook performing better? Buffer sizes are exactly the same? When using the internal soundcard I'm getting:
Macbook Pro 2.4, CPU Meter % 19
Macbook C2D 2.0, CPU Meter % 19
I really thought the new Macbook Pro would perform better than this. It's on fire with Logic and performs nearly 2x better (with a Logic perfromance test) than my G5 yet with Live there is only a marginal perfoermance boost.

nice new lappy, maybe I'll finally finish the god-damn record...
will post the results with the Fireface once I have it hooked up.

very strange, my old 2.0 ghz iMac got better results than my new macbook pro 2.4 ghz which has more ram. imac clocked in at 15-16, mbp is getting 19-20. why the hell is this?
-CPU = 19 -20%
-macbook pro
-OS X.10
-intelcore 2 duo 2.4 ghz
-2 GB
-built in sound card and on m-audio firewire audiophile
-1 internal 160GB 5400 rpm
weak.

This test is not in any way that accurate anymore with the newer dual core machines. The test doesn't take into account how Live spreads it's CPU load across different tracks.

That's pretty impressive. About 3ms latency, right? Did you have to do anything special to get it that low? Is that a Core Duo, Core 2 Duo or Santa Rosa MBP?
I have the 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro 15.4" with 2GB RAM and 160GB 5400RPM HD and have been thinking about getting the TC Electronic Konnekt 24D for using under XP SP2 with Boot Camp. So a pretty similar set up to yours, overall. At the moment I'm getting about 20-30ms latency with mu 01X! Which won't do at all...

Just fyi, Fireface 400 is completely stable at 48 samples buffer under XP on my machine (with CPU loads somewhere <50%). it does add another 8-10% of load, compared to, say, 256 samples.
