Android’s complete and total thought process “bump your phone to pay for shit!” But I’m sure plenty of people snoozed off the Apple Pay segment because “NFC isn’t new.”
well, I snoozed on it because it only works in the US. I don't live there so it's not exactly a feature for me. Because it won't work here

I've read NFC gets used a lot more in general outside the US. Is that true from what you know?

Angstrom wrote:It was an odd event. Perhaps my memories are faulty, but I remember the Steve era events being a lot more restrained and understated in tone. SJ would say something like "here is our new phone we think you are going to like it" and then the features of the product would make you go "wow, that's pretty cool". At this event it seemed they needed to do a lot more shouting and saying "woo" and "DID YOU GET THAT WAS JIMMY FALLON! PEOPLE GET EXCITED".

Perhaps because NFC payment is hardly groundbreaking. Nobody says "woo" over NFC, or "the camera is a bit better, honestly" or "here's a giant watch you won't be wearing". I was expecting T-shirt cannons and shit by the end. Bombast and bluster to cover the cracks it looked like.
At the next event people will be arrested by company police for not having applauded hard enough.

I really need to kill the “unlimited data” plan I have on my iPhone that I’m paying extra for, got grandfathered in from my iPhone 1 coupled with the “never available again once you cancel it” threat. After reviewing I average about 500MB a month in data at most, nowhere near unlimited or the 2G limit I would be paying a lot less for. :x

Oh wait. Since they killed the iPod Classic that means I might have to start using my iPhone for music in my car which means a lot more cellular streaming. Fuck. :x

Aside from maybe a weekly sync for new tracks and podcasts my Classic is pretty much permanently in my car in a hidden compartment connected to my stereo that has a touch screen to control it. Bliss!

I also have a thick military grade case on it for tossing it around because who really gives a fuck how sleek an iPod Classic looks. At this point it’s an unwieldy brick even without a case.

hey beats me i see you live around the corner there. i got a question. can you tell me: say for example the touchscreen, as part of the phone, was it developed before or after the design of the phone? i mean, say there were already factories, could be for nasa, that already produced these touchscreens, that apple came into contact with these factories, and bought their products to put in their iphones, or do you think it was the other way around?

Not to mention not even Apple employees are allowed to know what other groups are working on and its rumored that new employees are put on fake projects until its felt they can be trusted. This is to keep the secrecy. Must be a trip to Apple employees when they see a keynote and they go “No shit? That’s what I was working on? Neat.”

That’s pretty impressive, but did you do it with a stylus and store it on a SD card? If not, then it’s no longer impressive and should be deleted immediately! :x

it's called iSpent and the workflow moves you seamlessly into iBroke.

it's great for people who like to wait in lines. :x
