Having all your photos accessible from all your idevices and Macs should have been available from day one of iCloud backup with zero effort on your end and with no count limitations and no auto deleting photos based on a time stamp date. And that’s really not a deep concept to understand or conceive. :x

Even more than Jobs innovative mind, Apple is seriously missing his abusive tirades aimed at anybody involved at any level of delivering substandard products and services. The only fear at Apple right now is Cook not giving them a firm southern handshake. :x

I'm assuming that's Cupertino-speak for a hand job…?

Have you guys heard about this?

Just came across it.

The last week I was in Cali I was saying that using the Kinect 2.0 for home automation would be cool but obsolete by the time hobbyists did something useful with it (especially lack of already compliant devices) so that homekit is one answer to my own....answer

Heard of it in vague terms…which it still seems to be. The big drawback as mentioned at the bottom is no central app hub (yet). Would be nice if you could control your lights, thermostat, stereo, door locks, etc. from one app. In fact there are already apps that can do these type things separately so I don’t know what is considered the breakthrough here other than they slapped a name on protocol.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said already compliaint devices; what I meant was appliances - in the most general term. Then yes, a central app - and body gestures - to control them. Cuz I mean, let's be real, we're getting more accustomed to gestures with touch interface so at some point we'll want to minimize on the interface ie just use the one we already have all the time, except without having to touch anything

But there are also already some absurd appliances like a wifi slow cooker you can control and monitor with your phone. :x

A very powerful update to Auria is on the way. I might finally have to acquire it: http://discchord.com/blog/2015/1/13/aur ... unced.html

I’m somewhat excitedly anticipating the Apple Watch user reviews, good or bad. I still don’t see (can’t imagine) the advantage to having one but I could be swayed. I know there’s the argument that nobody wears watches anymore, including myself, but there are plenty of people that wear health bracelets. I think the “tells you the time” feature is a little narrow-minded, sort of like the forgotten feature that the iPhone makes calls...or any smartphone for that matter.

Still don’t know how it is going to work with Apple Pay because a big part of that is Touch ID and I don’t think the Apple Watch has that. What’s the point of putting your watch in the proximity of a POS device while also touching the Touch ID sensor on your iPhone?

Also rumored that the big selling point of the next iPhone is going to be Homekit integration (that for some reason isn't accessible in previous models :? ) intertwined with the Apple Watch and Apple TV. But as a renter I can’t exactly upgrade all the hardwired hardware in the building to stuff that is Homekit accessible. So exactly how much can I really take advantage of it?

:x

beats me wrote:When I click on the link in a streaming app to buy the song I'm listening to in iTunes

¼ the time it takes me to the song. :)

¼ the time it crashes the iTunes app. :x

¼ the time it can’t find the track (if there’s a “(“ in the title you’re fucked 90% of the time). :x

¼ the time over the last 2 weeks it goes straight to the new Madonna album available for preorder. :x

Now I clicked on a track on a streaming app and in iTunes it went to a completely different song not even close in any imaginable way to the song I wanted to purchase. Not one word in the title or artist name matched.

FUCK YOU, COOK!

Or possibly streaming app developer!

Maybe both. I'm willing to go with both on this.

:x

seriously. :x

i'm scared of the sync feature because i think that's just for copying shit and i don't want shit copied... except the ratings i give songs.

is there some strangely worded way to do this buried behind a somewhat deceptively labeled menu that i've managed to skip that doesn't involve the transferring of shit else?

No, you need to sync.
