I decided to approach this differently, here I'm ONLY working with sounds from the original track. No synthesis at all.

I used one of Hoffman2ks slicing presets found here:
http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/12/1 ... operators/
. preset called "Create Digital Mayhem"
-the track is very cut up, distorted, and really really slow

Machinate - would you be so good as to host this one too? That would be grand, cheers!8O wrote:-> Last Christmas (Large Hadron Collider Disaster 2009 Mix).mp3 <-
OK. I abandoned my plans for a hardtechno remix - it just wasn't working, no matter how hard I tried - and went for something else entirely.
So here's my, err, I dunno, I guess "electro" remix (don't really like to pigeon-hole, but just so you get a vague idea of what's coming!)
http://www.mediafire.com/file/emu1dz2yn ... B1_rmx.mp3
Slightly annoyed listening back to it this morning (I finished it late last night after a few glasses of red wine) that it seems my robot pretty much missed out the word "next" from his vocal. Never mind.
Credits:
OB1 (me) - drums, arrangement, production, mastering
Finley (my 3yo son) - synth choices
Robot - vocal
Rave, can you stick this in the original post please?

Just spent the last 30 minutes catching up with the entries
Now I need to go and lie down for a bit.
"from the sublime to the ridiculous" as my dad used to say.
Someone (I'm not volunteering) should collect all the submissions together and turn it into a charity compilation CD.

I've now had that melody stuck in my head for over a week - last night after I finished my remix was the worst. Just lay in bed with it going round and round.... Then compounded the whole situation by listening to all of those today. I need a holiday!
The last Fire remix is great.8O wrote:Machinate - would you be so good as to host this one too? That would be grand, cheers!8O wrote:-> Last Christmas (Large Hadron Collider Disaster 2009 Mix).mp3 <-
