i only had time to give it a brief scan so I dont know yet, all i've seen is that there are code components for each of the hardware components, stuff like Track EQ and Track Filter components which seem to be used for automatically wiring up control elements to 'the last matching device in the track' and other things for mapping controls onto a section of the session view. among other things

for clip status. "clip present" was not submitted...

Hey, someone just throwed a whole bread on the table :)
No, they're not velocity sensitive, for this you want to use a MPD.
But that's all i say for now.

There are a few guys out there waiting to give a nice press presentation and they worked hard on it - i don't want disclose too much and spoil their party.
Just a few more hours, enjoy the pleasant anticipation!

i remember this thread from about a year ago when I SAID

ableton got to work on some sort of hardware controller. i suppose Robert's monodeck was the primary inspiration. . wasn't it?

though i think i saw somebody from ableton commenting since then, that it would be impossible to make the perfect controller .. which might still be true .. nevertheless l... its all history now

Well, we learned that there are some common needs, and the AKAI thing is an answer to this. We came to the conclusion that we should focus on session view, because editing in arranger is something you better do with the mouse /keyboard. But it is obvious that the session view cries out for a dedicated controller. And here it is. The commercial version of the Monodeck

. Plus the capability to customize what it does using MfL. We expect users to come up with the most outstanding ideas here...

We are as excited as you are. We believe that the combination of Live+Hardware+MAX will make a lot of things possible that were not impossible before but incredibly hard to do...

for sure - this version seems like "Live - the RH Edition(tm)" - and we haven't even seen the "normal stuff" yet!
