Ah, Dom, c'mon, give us more crumbs from the table!

Velocity sensitive clip buttons?
i only had time to give it a brief scan so I dont know yet, all i've seen is that there are code components for each of the hardware components, stuff like Track EQ and Track Filter components which seem to be used for automatically wiring up control elements to 'the last matching device in the track' and other things for mapping controls onto a section of the session view. among other thingsMachinate wrote:oh yeah, I totally forgot, you guys have been snooping around the code! lol! Did you uncover any goodies?mdk wrote:so whats the protocol between this and live? is it done via the midi remote scripts and that new Framework setup?
so there really is something more than the normal midi feedbackdom wrote: You talked about the LEDs, actually the LED states are yellow, green, red - for clip present, playing and recording.

though i think i saw somebody from ableton commenting since then, that it would be impossible to make the perfect controller .. which might still be true .. nevertheless l... its all history nowStefan Franke wrote:Dear Forum
At the recent 'Musikmesse' in Frankfurt we had a couple of interesting conversations with hardware manufacturers about dedicated controller hardware for Live. While we think that this is a hot topic, we're - unfortunately - completely lacking resources to spend any time and brain power to it.
Furthermore we're convinced that no controller ever could serve the need of every user (nor even overlap 50% of their common needs), since there really are much more ways to use Live that we ever thought of.
However, we think that it might make sense - and might be interesting for the hardware guys - to distinguish a few typical use cases or user profiles. Let's concentrate on the live and/or session use only, since for typical arranger multitrack recording tasks there are already a couple of motorfader/mixer boxes which we strive to support in future.
The goal is to point those who are interested in building dedicated hardware directly to this thread and let them join the discussion - given that there's enough interest.
What do you think?
for sure - this version seems like "Live - the RH Edition(tm)" - and we haven't even seen the "normal stuff" yet!Robert Henke wrote:We are as excited as you are. We believe that the combination of Live+Hardware+MAX will make a lot of things possible that were not impossible before but incredibly hard to do...
Stay tuned, as i said, there's more to come....ollyb303 wrote: This is the most exciting news for a long time. Not the news I've been anticipating, but possibly even better, and a lovely surprise.
