And all applikations using this core services would beneft from such updates than.
Last year a pro applikation update pushed the miditiming from osx from 1-2ms jitter int the 0,1 ms jitter region..
As good as an Atari !!!
So its no mistake to watch out for pro applikation updates...
Even when it might be accidental that the crashing has stopped for me since i installed the update..
i will watch it.. as said bfore.. my system will be stressed again next week... i can tell more after that
Hm, I can't download that update. It requires a Final Cut Pro serial number.
Just installed 10.5.8 BTW. Doesn't seem to affect my Ableton stability issues. Nor did Automap 3.2 that just arrived too.

its really useless... exept the arrogant support that never answers questions anyway and beta versions that dot cretae reports.. they now create reports that are to big to be send to ableton..what is ver surprising..becase the crashing song just had 3 loops in i..and the beta crash package shouldnt contain the loops..

live 8 keeps crashing with the latest beta... dnt really looks klike that they get it fixed.
happens with bome midi translator aswell.. so its not midipipe that s causing the crashes...
seems working with midiclips is involved

My little 13" unibody Macbook runs hard (and hot!) and to date Live has yet to crash on me. I use it several times a day, at least once for several hours at a time.
2.4GHz Core 2 Duo
2GB of RAM
OS X 10.5.8
Live 8.0.4
Third-party plugins I've used in varying amounts:
Rapture 1.2 AU
uTonic AU
Synplant AU
Crystal AU
Sylenth1 Demo AU

I'm crashing a lot on exit. There is about a 50% of crashing every time I close a project. Sometimes if I make a new project before closing ableton it will be fine. Reguardless of when I crash the problem is always a Kernel Memory Access Violation error on thread 0.

Yep,and blooody annoying
Seems to be random whether I can open the projects again!
The only change I've made is to instal Waves Element synth.
However, there is no problem when using Logic.

I crash daily on OSX Lion.
1) Almost always crashing on the first save of a project (the project will still save and open fine)
2) Crashing on exit ~20% of the time
Super annoying.

Live 8 almost never crashes for me.
Yet I am mindful of what plugs I am using,
I am cautious of midi routing and avoiding any midi feedback loops,
I aspire for efficiency in the use or return tracks,
I go easy on side-chaining,
I dont push Live's CPU meter over 50%,
I stay mindful of how much I am taxing Live when using large sample files or multi sampled things,
I go easy on M4L,
If M4L is of no desire for me, the 64bit beta of Live is ACE.
I upgraded to Mountain Lion, OR downgraded to Snow Leopard,

by oblique strategies
Live 8 has become stable for me. I operate similarly to JuanSOLO.
- MacBook Pro early 2008
- Snow Leopard 10.6.8
- RME Fireface UC - latest blah-blah
I do get the occasional dropout (& associated IOAudioStream Error in Console), but they have thankfully become rare. I think it's a quirk of my particular system, since I'm not seeing many similar complaints from other Fireface UC users.
I'm probably not pushing it very hard since I'm primarily mixing long audio files, & not using a lot of automation, not using a lot of plugins or instruments, etc.
Yep, for me it's basically stable. But it wasn't always this way... My bet is that after the trauma of Live 8, Live 9 will be a remarkably stable release!
