My darling Genelec 7050B subwoofer. 8030 & 8020 owners take note: life is too short to miss out on all of that low frequency energy you are not hearing.
I didn't save a dime this year, and spent most of my time figuring out what gear to buy next. Most of the audio gear I bought this year is field equipment for location video and film shoots. The gear itself is really expensive and incredibly boring. Oh well.
Good to see so many happy Mac owners in this thread. If the new i7 processors arrive in the MacBooks in 2010, I will get a new Mac too.

well, i consider also getting a sub again for my genies, but purely to throw even louder houseparties, definitely not to mix, i don't like mixing with subs, it's not good for me. if i needed more bass for mixing, i would rather get a bigger model of the 8000 series.

day-amn! just scored a roland rs-09 for $200bucks I love the sound of this thing, it's not worth more really but that's just my opinion everybody seems to be selling them for between 3 and $500

hence my happiness. $200 has been the sweetspot this year for me it's crazy, maschine-$200, juno 106-$200 juno-6 $200 and now this

the rs-09 looks like it brand new, plastic still on serial
where'd you get maschine for $200?

For me the best purchase of the year was definitely Cubase 5.
Other good purchases include Propellerhead Record, which is pretty fantastic.
And I replaced my dodgy M-Audio Ozonic interface with the new Lexicon I-ONIX U42S which is far more stable and comes with a very good VST lexicon reverb as a nice extra.
