Hm...I've got it working on my XP notebook with firewall activated.
I deactivated the firewall on my Win 7 machine, but nothing changed.
The connection seems to be ok, TouchOSC on the iPod sees the notebook
when trying to sync, but I still get the "time out" error...

Hi all-
Using the latest version (r95) I was able to manually install and get this working on my machine. THANKS SO MUCH to ST8 for getting this to work. Still no dice on the auto-installer, but this is great. You all seriously need to get this installed and firing. Figuring out the Sequencer now!
Thanks again ST8!

Just wanted to report that I've got it working on my XP
machine / iPod Touch / Live 8.1.1 Demo. Installation was
absolutely easy, worked right out of the box.
I already found some glitches with label updates and
with the new scene launch buttons. There is also one
live set in which I completely lose control / connection
when trying to move the red box.
Where can I send precise bug reports ?
Is there a chance that someone can port the GUI to
Usine for use with normal (bigger) touchscreens ?
As far as I understand the complete handling is done
by the remote script (as TouchOSC can only display
and send OSC messages), so it should not be too complicated,
because Usine does not have to talk to the sometimes
complicated LiveAPI.
And would it be possible to implement clip color feedback
in the remote script ? I know TouchOSC can't use it (yet),
but Usine can.

Its the first draft of an installer. Launch LiveControl.app it'll show you a gui where you can configure your config file and save it. At the bottom if you click browse and select your Live.app it'll make the right path, then click install and it'll install the python files in the correct place. You should then find LiveControl_TO_NoPy in the midi remote scripts list. This also
no longer requires you to install python.
This also supports bonjour, so if you start LiveControl.app, then start TouchOSC, TouchOSC should appear in the List of services, click on it and it'll enter the right ip address in the remote field and the right port. LiveControl should also appear in the network preference in TouchOSC so you can automatially configure that ip too.
Try it out and let me know how it goes
ST8, I'd like to try out this installer. Is the installer app and the templates from that link updated to the latest version with the scene launcher as well?

You dont need the installer for the latest version nor the templates, The program will update the labels automatically.
http://monome.q3f.org/changeset/latest/ ... format=zip
just download that and overwrite your existing files
For full bug reports you can email me or drop a comment over at livecontrol.q3f.org (if its resolving for you yet!)

Hi, I'm really excited about this patch for touchosc, but I cant seem to get it work!
I'm on a mac, snow leopard but i dont know exactly which version, think the last
I already installed the right version of python, and installed the tekst file in user/my user (which is in my case user/PieterC ???) and I changed the ip addresses, they're 192's. I am however on a network in a hotel, but I dont think that should matter.
I run live 8.0.10, the live lite akai version, but I'm upgrading soon to suite, I downloaded the demo version of suite 8.1 and it doesent work there either
I placed the files in the right place in both versions, I did let the doc folder in the livecontrol_to folder, because I didnt need it..
my ipod does recieve midi (osc) messages all the time, the 'led' that indicates midi in touchosc lights up all the time, but live doesnt recieve anything, nor does it show a box..
any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I'd love this to work sooo much!!
ps, I've registrated live 8.0.10 akai version on my machine now, any idea if I completely reset the machine from time to time, to keep it running fast enough, if I can keep registrating it on THIS mac, without using my other licenses? or is that not necessary on a mac? I only just own this mac, and I come from pc, but I'm loving it so far...

I'm not sure if it's verified to work on 10.6 yet since ST8 is still on 10.5.8 and doesn't have a machine with 10.6 to test on from what I've read.

Latest one works on 10.6 as well as 10.5 but its a bit buggy at the moment, for me it crashes when it finds a bonjour service.

Just updated with your latest Mac Installer.
Everything went fine(I'm on 10.6.3).
I start up Live and the 'Red Ring' appears.
Only problem is that I'm not getting any response from TouchOSC; in 'Launcher' mode I try tapping the buttons and Live's not responding. Odd.
Any ideas?
p.s. you did say it was buggy in 10.6

did you select an ip on the same subnet as your ipod for the local ip? The ip list should list all the ip addresses that your computer has. Ive found that abelton can talk to touchosc but not vice versa when using a private ip address (169.x.x.x). Maybe try using a router instead of an adhoc network, or assign your own ips

superb work ST8! the new version with the scene launch is really good.
i'm still having trouble with the sequencer not showing the notes in the clip properly, though.
via the seq tab, i can enter notes into a clip and they show up ok, but if i press 'up' or 'down', the notes disappear from view, even though they should still be visible.

ST8,
I reopened Live control and 'auto-grabbed' the IP.
All good now.
Did you mention the latest version has scene launch for the Ipod touch?
Also, Zoom+/- don't appear to be working; or I might not understand how they're supposed to function.
As always, THANKS.
