its a listening test.. one where we know the result..and so it became a forum test..

and now its chrystal clear why the mean midi bug ( live crashig when using midi ) was able to surrive the initial betatesting last year..

i allways had problems to figur how such a bug was able to get thru...but now

Yeah.. I really need a listening test

Anyway, congrats on doing exactly what you always do. MIDI Bug that crashes Live? Aren't they all? Cue 32-bit bug rant. Oh goodie, a disagreement with me discredits the efforts of the hundreds of people who tried Live 8 in its beta phase. Its back in beta again, what are you doing about it? Cue a response that'll roughly take up the time of installing the latest beta.

The funniest thing about this whole thing is, there are 2 outcomes: I'll feel silly for engaging you again or you'll find some more nasty bugs to rant about. You are the beta test

Simple answers:

1) The bug could have appeared after beta testing

2) Nobody came across it during the beta phase

3) Somebody did experience it but didn't report it

4) Somebody reported it without including the needed info to reproduce this bug

5) It didn't crash during internal testing

6) The devil did it

Is the bug fixed now?

sure.. thats was the problem.. the program has rewriten itself..and bang...mean bugs..
hoffman2k wrote: 2) Nobody came across it during the beta phase
thats rather obvious ... the question is why not if
hoffman2k wrote: 3) Somebody did experience it but didn't report it
maybe because there was no scenario for random crash bugs? how to report a bug that is not reproducable..except by smoking a cigarette and waiting
hoffman2k wrote: 4) Somebody reported it without including the needed info to reproduce this bug
maybe only non smokers did the beta test?
hoffman2k wrote: 5) It didn't crash during internal testing
unlikely..or they only tested it with there shiny pro books.. actualy not unlikely...
hoffman2k wrote: 6) The devil did it
no..i havent anything to do with it
hoffman2k wrote: Is the bug fixed now?
yes.. and i hope they have improoved theire internal betatesting.. in case they have one.. i ve oubt that in the past.

Such things shouldnt be found by users..
special things regarding strange configurations and modes of operation are bugs to be found by users...
but not standard usage related stuff...

And you know its standard usage stuff because everybody experienced it, but nobody seemed to have reported it.

So, which bugs are preventing you from getting work done now?

So Live could be running perfectly without you even knowing it, yet you have the time to say it doesn't work?
