They always come back in the end. And people haven't even seen their efforts. May I remind you that the current beta is currently about 3 months in the making.
If there is one clear sign things are happening, its the fact that IK multimedia is getting their behinds in gear to fix things. They're even talking to users on this forum.
Their plugins have been crashing Live for over half a decade. They've been "looking into it" ever since. I'm betting you'll see some results soon. I don't keep track of their betas though.
Another big crash maker was the Complex warping mode. Also fixed.
Although the latest changelogs are filled with MFL improvements (*whistles nonchalantly*), they nailed pretty much all the crash bugs I ran into last year.

As for voting results and loyalty... 3phase is about the most loyal user that Ableton has and I'm pretty sure he didn't vote for them in this poll. :D

Apology accepted. But I still expect another one for making me look up that Jethro dude. NCIS? Really? I gave up on that stuff after that episode of CSI where the girl got killed.

In any case, none of them have the faintest fucking idea which version of Ableton they have on their hard drives until I ask them, and they never come to me saying "that graphic bug where the volume is displayed on Operator has an anti-aliasing problem and is slightly less legible than other displays" [ ] - they don't even seem to really notice if it crashes, or at least none of them ever bother to tell me that it did.

make of that what you will.
So you say all that training is mainly requested by the users of hacks? because they dont get the manual with the program?
worked in the past for logic and made a guy that wrote a book how to use logic rich...

But
that all apllies to official ableton users too.. and theire high need of training and ignorance or tollerance towards obvious bugs or unstability is the base for your business..and maybe even the base of abletons business.

But let me ask you one question...is the rectified training really paying of in your part of the world?

within berlin its of cause a rather stupid investment because every 15 year old girl knows the program inside out and even if some of them would be up for training they would rather go for your looks or records/dj sets whatever but wouldnt care about your ableton certivikation..

so is that differnet in your world and really bringing money?
are there any ableton gurus with own nudity camps out there too?

i havent voted at all because i use multiple softwares allready.. i gave up the dream to just work in one and build up contiously like in the old days a long time ago..

we live in the time of lost data.. that includes permanent workflow and platform changes.

what worked nicely yesterday ( > opcode studio vision ) wouldnt even run on a modern computer anymore..

same will happen with abletons life earlier or later.. ..but ok..they are really not the best..so they wont die first

Then you should see what you can do with Maschine. In terms of total mouseless hands-on control, it blows Live's session view+APC combo out of the water. Oh, and you can actually record automation into clips in realtime, as in actually record knob tweaks.
