If you switch presets via the enigma software there's a delay, but if you do it from the triggerfinger itself it's pretty instantaneous I think.

I have no clue what "channel aftertouch" means. But I do know - since my Trigger Finger is right here together with the Enigma software - that each pad can send an independent midi CC that is controlled by how hard you press the pad in question.

My point exactly, Supster. I can map 37 clips/scenes to my Ozonic keys + another 14 to buttons, and another 90 if I want to transpose octaves (1 switch). It's the coolness factor & nostalgic MPC look, I think.

That's true... if you have a keyboard to which you can assign different CCs to different key's aftertouch. Apart from that - yes - very much like any keyboard in functionality. But playing the pads feel nothing like playing keys... It's a matter of taste I guess!

Well, i just ordered one.
I enjoy the midi keyboard and the faderfox lx-1.

But i really need something to slam on.
Also i need something portable that is velocity sensitive.

So that i dont need the keyboard everytime i want make some velocity sensitive patches.

In the end. I am laughing at the irony.

I swore never to buy an m-audio product again. But eventually my finger triggered that buy button.

you have never banged a beat out on an mpc have you?

I think the big difference between trigger finger and a keyboard is the movment of your fingers. On a keyboard you can peck at keys and trigger
things, but a drum pad arrangement allows you more space to really get
in there and beat out things that would probably tie your fingers in knots if you played it on a keyboard. I like Trigger Finger because after having played piano for most of my life, it makes me think about music in a different way. I can't wait to get my hands on one!

Here's what you can't do on a keyboard: hold down a key, press harder and lighter and have that pressure sensitivity trigger other events, aka a volume level on a secondary track.

On a keyboard, in general you hit a note and release, there is no 'in between'

Check the demo song that comes with it, where holding a pad harder or lighter results in opening a secondary volume channel, which has a repeating snare, achieving the rolling snare effect loved on MPCs.

This might work with aftertouch though?

Yep. But that's only one controller message for all keys. On the Trigger Finger you can set different controllers for every pad!

love my triggerfinger had it about a month... still using default presets #10 & #11 for impulse. have tried to set paramaters using the library with no success. has anyone gotten the engima software to work with triggerfinger? read and reread the manual, dumb me no clue as the parameters assigned even after uploading to computer have no effect... appreciate it if anyone knows of any tutorial links.. or just to hear engima software works...?
