Re: Bitwig should have been called Ballbag
People used to refer to them as 'pots'. Now they are called 'knobs'. Dunno why.
Re: Bitwig should have been called Ballbag
Bitshit has precisely two things going for it. It's pretty, and the timestretch quality is absurdly good using the stretch HD mode. Otherwise, almost all other DAWs look like a state of the art software from the future in comparison. I spent the first 4 days demoing and crashing (and losing all my work every time) constantly running into limitations of what it *can't* do. Every 20 seconds, every step of the way, some normal function (like resizing of arrange page tracks vertically LOL - big feature! so hard to implement in 3 years!), can't be done and blocks any creativity. It's no longer a case of "Oh bitwig can do this, nice" but rather "Oh crap, it can't do THAT either".
Honestly, with those who have bought it, I want to know what they're on, and I want some, as life would obviously be a lot easier. !
I am being for real here and wondering what the heck is going on and how anyone could think it's worth 300 euros.. (MAYBE 49 for some fun when one is in the mood of head banging or self mutilation and a tattoo they want is too expensive).
It really is, no april fools, no joking, (and in my opinion), the worst DAW release EVER in the history of so called "pro" daws, in my now 23 years doing this (and being totally in the box from 1997 onwards with logic 3). Oh by the way, Logic 3 windows on a pentium 233 is a veritable powerhouse in comparison.. almost 2 decades ago.
I wish even part of me was even ever so slightly over exaggerating here.. but whatever feeling I can convey by text, however bad I can write I think Bitshit is, in my mind, in reality and feeling, it is actually a lot worse. It will be the most sold DAW on the planet in the marketplace come Xmas when those fooled with rose coloured glasses come to their senses and realise how bad it is - I said it first.

Shouting 'Hey DJ, stop playing with my Ballbag!' might have drawn some funny looks in the nightclub so i can sorta see why they didn't go with that.
