Way to go Smutty!!!!!! I'd say don't bother with the gum, you're just taunting yourself and making yourself conscious of the fact you're TRYING to stop. Get yourself to the mindset that you've STOPPED. Finished. Past tense. Old news.
Also, drink lots of water, def. a couple of litres/day. This will make you feel far better in general, your eyes will become clearer and the nicotine and other nasties will be flushed out of your body all the quicker.

Yes, you are not alone. 10:57 pm, the end of day 2. Right now is probably the worst it has been yet.

Everything is annoying the hell out of me. I will go and sleep on the couch.

Tomorrow will begin day three. And by tomorrow evening right now the worst of it should be over.

i too, am joining in.

this idea occured to me today (while smoking!) before even reading this thread.

smutek, thanks for the new background image.

i am $4000 away from progress....

my dumbass got a dui last year so i need $200 right now to get my lisence and $1000 left on my fine.

i need a new computer because this one is a. a desktop and b. shot to hell, performance wise, so i'm looking at a $2000 lappy (need 1 gig each of ram and cpu).

and i need to get live 5 + the ozonic bundle + operator which is prolly about $1000

kicker: i smoke every day and haven't been working since december (long story).
i work now as of last week, however

i am all kinds of fucked right now, and i know i'll be a fucking asshole when i'm quitting, but i'm gonna do the 'pushups instead of cigs' route and stare at my new desktop.
i love you guys.

i am now off to smoke my last cigarette ever.

john

Start Live 5 (demo) and setup a track with:
Operator->Saturator->BeatRepeat->FilterDelay and fiddle around with them.
It will distract your attention from anything else :D

I used patches for a while when i started giving up, they gave me crazy dreams at night but mainly made me feel like shit. I Ditched them after a week or so.

Gum and patches are just another way to make you part with your cash.

I wish I was giving up now in a way, maybe my girlfriend would have let me get operator. I've already spent my 'quitting smoking' money long ago, i can't pull that one anymore unfortunately.

Giving up food! now that might work, that stuff really is addictive, i just can't seem to live without it.

Yeah, how the hell are you supposed to get it out of your system when you are putting it back in with the patch? And in increments just small enought to drivwe you completely nuts!

Day 3 and I think I feel the worst right about now. It is not unbearable though, hard time sleeping last night so I just got up and came to work early. This way (hopefully) I can just leave early and minimize the amount of time I spend around other people.

Just dont wanna be around anyone else at the moment, couldn't even sleep in bed with my wife last night. Slept on the couch.

Day 2 here and I've got a terrible headache. I will get drunk today just to ease the waiting for the liberation...

 You guys need "12-step" Sequencers.

I once was able to stop. Simply because i couldn't breathe anymore.
But months later. I went to a club. And instantly started smoking again.

The best way to stop smoking is avoiding smokers

Good luck to all of you.

Good luck to all you guys!!

I quit smoking after 20 years of consuming 1 pack a day. That was one year ago.
It was very hard for me and I never thought I could make it, but I did.
Everybody must decide which is the best way for him to quit smoking.
I used chewing gum. It took me two months to live completely nicotine free, but I never smoked a cigerette again from day one.
The hardest thing for me was, when I was playing in a club and drinking alcohol.

So I would recomment to stop drinking for a while too!!

My tip for you guys: Just in case - always have some gum with you.
Because in the chewing gum there is just nicotine - in one cigarette there are more
than 1000(!!) toxic substances.

It is possible! You are not alone!

Cheers,

Michael

Careful, they don't call alcahol the 'don't care drug' for nothing, you're more likely to develop a 'fuckit! just one more won't hurt' attitude with a few drinks inside you.
