iPod has been the only thing keeping their heads above water for several years now.
I read in an article about Apple in USA today a few days about, 60% of their profits came from computer systems. That could be though that the computer systems arnt 200 dollars, but are 2500.

Although they're just another piece of hardware like my PA and projectors, I like my Macs. They're beautiful, stable, and have never let me down.

I switch them on. They work. And when faster ones come out, I will be able to do more with them. It really is that simple!

As far as Apple marketing and sales politics, tactics, and techniques, I couldn't care less. Nor could I care about where their revenue comes from, how many iPods they have sold, or when the Macintels will arrive. I have no control over it, so I don't bother worrying about it. I just make the best of what I'm using at present.

I buy their boxes, have a blast using them, and make a living because of them.

Releasing so many diffrent versions of the iPod is getting to be a mistake. Who ever has bought an iPod, has an iPod now, its probably about 80% of the market now. What I'm saying is, %80 of the market who would buy an iPod already have one! That leaves roughly %20 left for sales. Not MUCHH>. Granted you get a lot for the money. 15,000 songs, 20,000 photos, and 150 hours of video, you have to be satisfied with that. But they are blowing their load now, if ya know what I mean. That's just so wrong... this is a market with tons of room to grow.

Don't try and figure out market ups and downs and the comments of analysts, it's all manipulation at one level or another.
Ya, that is just SO WRONG. lol. Man, everyone thinks they are a market analysit. The reason it fel so drastically is even though apple reported their biggest quarterly profits in history, those profits were still far less than analysts had expected. Far less. It also doesnt help that just a week or so before many analysts changed their BUY recommendation on apple stock to a "stay" (i dont know the exact term) because they feel the company has somewhat peaked at the current stock price. They didnt think it would plummet, but it definetly was not going to continue to grow at the exponential rate it had been.
