yes, pure comedy, to read that rant and then "i'm running 5.03 on a macintel"
yeah, that was funny.
shame that it nonetheless applies more and more every day to my experience of Live 5.0.3 on the PC.
am hoping that 5.2 will fix the serious bugs once and for all, because i fear it'll be the last update to 5 before 6 comes out.

Why? There's still about 6 months till Live 6?

Well, it's only my fear - I don't have evidence. Just a suspicion based on this unusually fast upgrade cycle for a DAW.
Let's see what happens.
Place your bets...!

Thanks for telling me this .5.02 for for macintel. Sorry to lead you on boys.Lol.
...I install the latest upgrades I assume there for the latest machines!?
Especially when you install it on that machine and it immediately asks if you wish to upgrade to the latest 5.03. No mention of 5.02 only being for Mactel. So thanks for the Heads up Ill go and install 5.02. Ill be back if its still crap. Ants.

Dont miss. 5.02 is an old version. 5.2 is the version you need.
Which has not been officially released. But you can download it from this website as a beta.

energy settings aer in higher performance... i tryed with my m-audio fw 410... and also with the built in audio from my PB... its all the same...
i tryed taking a memorie slot out... and the problem is worse...
any chance that this can be fixed in 5.04 ?
i don't experience these at all on my powerbook.
unless i put in too many softsynths.
also your firewire 410 is going to be using anywhere from 10-20% of your CPU
(that live will not report as usage) depending on your sample rate and track count.
firewire sucks.
here is live playing 1 loop on my mac mini and my edirol fa-66
kernel_task 19.9%
and your solution for an alternative to firewire is? what else are laptop users going to use for an interface, the headphone jack?

Anything besides the fw 410. Me and many others have owned one... Some people get along with it fine. Most people on a mac have problems, though not everybody.
There's nothing wrong with firewire in general, it's just the fw 410 that has a very bad reputation.

My 410 works ok on my laptop but is having problems(CPU spikes, etc) on my desktop. I tried another firewire cable, didn't fix the problem, will upgrade the firewire adapter to a VIA one, I think could be that, or all this IRC issues, anyone with any other ideas, greatly appreciated...

and this:
- extremely slow, lagged copy/duplicate/move with all clips of any type and size on the arrrangment grid. no noticable improvement
is really a pain in the neck.
4.14 is much better than 5.03 in graphic performance.
latitude 800, 1GB ram, 1.8 GHz Centrino
that was 2005!!! live5 is worser than live4, live6 is worser than live5, live7 is worser than live6, and so on...
i cant believe the abletons didnt fix that performance issue! i think they have to change something completely... but now its too late... and live7 will be the worst performance program of ableton ever... tbc.

same shits for me. Fucking spikes even with a 15% CPU!!! And it seems to be worst and worst. I cannot understand. Do you think that I can ask for a Live 5 downgrade (I have the full version only since the 6th)?
My tongue spits english like a frog and my head is currently searching for a comprehensive language.
And I shit
