"Rio" was the fucking bomb track!

The whole Funkadelic "maggot brain" album. It really went out there and stayed funky at the same time. Can You Get To That was the song that really got me on that one.
I had an old experiments in electronic music featuring John Cage and Harry Partch. That showed me that there was way more to musice than just lyrics and pop framework. The Desert was the song on that one that got me.

Lionel Richie's "All Night Long." The first song I remember loving. lionel was in the ZONE when he put together that masterpiece of an album. pop/r&b craftmanship that is undeniable.
don't believe me? i'll send you my PERSONAL copy of "can't slow down" on vinyl. don't worry, i'll find another. if you don't think it's an excellent well crafted and beautifully excecuted album you are either lying or just plain HOPELESS.
plus, the picture on the inside of the unfolded album is fantastic.

As far as the song,
I really understood texture when I heard "Here come the warm jets" by Brian Eno.
As far as albums,
My first favorite album was Depeche Mode's "Black Celebration" that lost out to Skinny Puppy's "Vivi Sect Vi"
Now I would have to say that Negativ Land's "Helter Stupid" or Terminal Cheesecake's "King of all Space Heads" is my bag right now.

PLANET ROCK - don't stop. this tune made me shit my pants when it first came out!
