No they don't. I'm currently working on a solution for that.

I had a solution, but it is overkill.
To make a pitch plugin that relates to MIDI note numbers, i need a rack with more then 140 pitch plugins.
140 x 16 =
I have a few of these versions which also had a modded chord that goes from 0 to 127. Thats 2 more of those big pitch racks in a step.
Eventually i ended up with a rack that has over 6000 devices and over 20 000 automatable parameters.
I can see why vst's are not allowed more then 128 automatable parameters.
Live gets a bit sluggish when it has to list thousands of parameters in that little dropbox, to say the least.

So it's up to plan B.

I'm working on a new sequencer that is more compact and powerful.
It wont be out for a few weeks. But the Covert Seq will keep seeing updates.
I believe that Adam Jay is working on a Covert Seq layout for the lemur. That'll be an interesting development.

i have been using the seq on 4 tracks ,one for drums ,then bass (operator), synth (albino) & impulse/simpler.

I move the pattern clips up or down on each track and then start jammin down through the scenes with my uc33e (knobs/faders mapped to the 16steps for pitch and velocity),capturing the most interesting ones. I can then work further with these scenes edit, render, record midi etc.

I am going to save a live template with 4 seq tracks all mapped to the first 4 presets on my uc33 which should give me mucho control

it's tough to tell from the screenshot, but how hard would it be to use this do do a small amt of automation? (e.g. changing envelope or filter parameters)

also, can you change the loop length (without changing the global loop)?

It's advised to run your instrument in a second MIDI track. Then you can have automation by using a MIDI dummy clip. Which has more advantages then regular automation, because you can trigger it independant from the notes that are feeded to it.

As for your second question. You can change the playing order and the speed of the playing order by triggering clips. This wont affect the notes that you programmed for each step.
I know thats isn't the coolest way to control tempo. But you can only do so much with Live's MIDI plugins
And the current system still has its advantages. Follow actions, unlimited patterns, live only,....
I haven't even messed with legato clips, but i'm sure it'll be fun too.

You can use Live's undo if you changed the note with the mouse.
Otherwise, just move the knob back to where it was or turn the velocity down if you want to mute the step.

No, I didn't add it.
It worked perfectly fine with Abletons instruments. But it caused a lot of trouble with VST's. Since i used CC's to send to the BCR.

I found another solution though. But that is still in the works......
I'll keep you posted.
