Im sorry but bands like crystal method, chemical brothers etc spent the first half of their careers basing whole albums around samples. Plus I remember hearing crystal method saying they use ableton. They can do it so it cant be the softwares falt

Back to topic, I think Live captures every bit of your improvisation, style, imagination in session view (try record and play at the same time) and then it's up to you to bring this bits to life in arrangement view or after maintenance keep them in session view and enjoy playback. Personally I make 'old style' music with Live like soul, funk, pop ballads because I'm that kind of artist. So what Live gave me more than Cubase? Direct drive from inspiration to finished songs. Songs are not casual even if with Live you can create casual improvisation and stick the bits together, at a later time.
If you miss that 10%... it will come be patient. Live speeds up the creation process because it's a creative tool. Making music is inspiration and that comes randomly. Like in the old days when Live wasn't there it could take a piano and 15 minutes to write a successful song. Now the structure comes faster but what makes the song special, every song special, at least for you comes later when you probably don't expect. Don't let Live speed fool you, you're the musician, you're the heart of the machine.
Good Luck,

LOL. You're upset because you can't make music like Moby and Fatboy? You're finishing whole songs in 30 minutes?

I don't think you need 10% more out of ableton, you need 10% more musical talent

haha, I love necro-jacking!

This is so much troll-baiting, we don't seem to fall for them this easily nowadays:
If I wrote experimental music, I know I could finish them because theres not much to it at all.
