Live's days numbered? No.
There is no other audio app out right now that can do what Live can do straight out of the box. Show me a program with a matrix of clips, flexible and easy routing, bonehead-easy MIDI device assigning, and I'll sell my body to a drunk businessman.
Reaper and Live are different programs. Use both! I will.

I can't help but to chuckle at the idea of a program called LIVE battling another one called REAPER

But seriously, that's not what it's about. These packages are so different it's definitely not an either-or situation.

In any case, being a Live user but very interested in the developments of other hosts, I have kept my eye on this one for a good while now. Feature-wise, it has evolved into an application of mighty proportions - considering its age, that is. Despite the hectic programming pace, it feels very streamlined and pretty much oozes quality of code and loving development. Hats off to that one.

I don't know where these trolls come from, but I guess if they get you thinking about Reaper it's not all bad.

I highly recommend any Live user download Reaper and take Live for a spin rewired, it's a beautiful marriage for me...you'll be surprised what you can do.

Seriously, Reaper's light-weight and it packs a punch. If you're on Windoze and haven't already shelled out umpteen-thousand dollars investing years into one of the "big boys" already, it's a no-brainer!

I initially left Sonar for Live, but Live specializes in a whole different thing. That's why it's pointless to even compare Reaper and Live; the better comparison is Live+Cubase/Sonar/Tracktion compared to Live+Reaper. For those users, if they haven't checked out Reaper yet they might be surprised.
