i fogot about this...

I had my first good residency here in town a fwe years ago, and was opening up for one of my favorite all time house heroes from San Francisco.

I had something to eat that day, that to say the least did not agree with my stomach in the least. I was in pain at moments.

My set was going well and the crowd was really digging things.
It was still early, so I decided, since I was the only one in the booth it would be safe for me to release the pressure that was building in my stomch.
I began to unleash the fury, dropping some MAJOR GAS

just as i turned to look up to drop the next track, the promoter/owner, the hedlining DJ, and his girlfriend were in the booth with me; all with mortified looks on their faces.
i could feel the red color building in my face, and awkward sweat starting trying to mix and keep my composure. i tried to act innocent, & prayed they didnt notice, but who was i kidding. It smelled like something had died and rotted in the booth

I was so embarressed, the owner and the dj's girlfriend decided to flee (smart decision),the headliner (that will remain nameless) just looked at me and laughed. He was very, very cool, and said "It happens, what you gonna do run from the booth, they decided to come up here." laughing he said it's always like that, just when you think you are safe, someone comes in the booth and busts ya."

we had a great time that night, what an icebreaker that was.
we still talk to this day, but I'll be damned if that story doesn't come up once in a while.

hehe thats made my day! at least you did it in the booth where you were alone / only a couple people, its very bad when your stuck on a dancefloor that stinks of shit and it could be any of the 200 people around you, but you can move, theres no fresh air, your drink has ran out, and you just want to die

I got married once. That was pretty bad.

I also sat in with Harry Connick at Bally's for a night when one of his guys was sick. I was so nervous I threw up backstage. They all laughed pretty hard.
Thanks,

ditto

one of the worst decisions I ever made was to get married, followed shortly by my smartest decision ever, to get divorced.

I've never had any major clangers when playing live. I've done the usual stick dropping/missing a beat things (usually too drunk!)... One time the band came in a beat early on an intro...covered it up...ish!
