and trigger loop mode
whats trigger loop mode ? is it the obvious ? or lfo trigger ?
and what about sampler ?
look in the "loop" drop down menus - sampler has it too

What do you base this on? The new nudge function?
Because not one of the maybe most important three missing functionalities for a DAW was implemented:
folder tracks
clip crossfades in arrange
screensets
If you additionally look what Live7 brings, it's quite obvious that either a strategy change is taking place or L8 will come sooner than usual.

really the only thing that i would need now to make Live more or less perfect for me is:
a fix to the 128 parameter limit
OSC-support
and those things will probably be fixed/integrated soon ... exciting times indeed ..

hi to all!!
can you in L7 modulate directly sampler parameters such as sample offset, loopstart and others via clip envelopes. And amount of modulation within the midi matrix section of the sampler??
Thanks,
T.

And you don't think the functions that
are implemented aren't on somebody else's "maybe most important missing DAW functionalities" list?
Like for example: timesig changes, group soloing, sidechainable dynamics/gating/filtering out of the box, slicing, routing external audio to/from a device chain, tightened MIDI timing, (allegedly) better resource management and so on?
Given the additional goodies (drum rack looks like a real winner for me personally), for 99 euros, I can't help other than feel that the upgrade seems balanced.

my sentiments exactly, not all my wishlist was addressed in this release but for £68 there's enough that improves my workflow that it is worth upgrading.
Ableton staff have said that a number of the features mentioned as missing are actually on the drawing board, but just couldn't make it into this version.
I'm pretty sure that : if they have actually said they want to do the missing features, and they are on the drawing board then you can be sure it's simply time pressure that kept them out of this version.
Sure we can rant that, for instance, automation recording in Session isn't in this version, or that folders and hide tracks aren't in there. I certainly threw my lip out at those ommisions. But, thinking rationally - as long as they are fully aware how much we want them, then we should get them as soon as they can actually manage to do it. I really don't want to get it before they can manage it. That would be really bad. Give me a late good solution over an early bad one.

Operator got a high-quality option that uses alias-free oscillators, and it sounds amazing.
and trigger loop mode
The most important bit is still the updated pitch envelope

Combined with trigger loop mode it's now even more awesome for drums...

Tell me, with the hardware interface plugin (which is fantastic, no doubt, I've no excuse not to go get an Echo Layla 3G now), but can you name MIDI control changes? Not all filter cutoffs are cc 50...

record automation to sessionview yeah.
is there track grouping in L7?
here how i group my tracks, takes ages and its really fking silly that i need to do it, instead of just group them, and hide the contents of the group to save space..
silly, innit?
screenie is from the last stage before final master, so most of the arrangement is done etc, still i need the tracks separated for addition editing etc.
rendering them out and playing back the rendered samples only gives me dropouts. -.-
hence my semi track grouping als things.

friend_kami,
similar here. Too bad L7 has no solution for us users with medium trackcounts.
crossfade overlapping files

the one feature, or lack there of, that frustrates me to no end... is the ability to overlap files and have them crossfade. its a very necessary feature for matching up samples without warping the sounds. its so easy in logic pro and pro tools and seems like it would be a simple feature to add.

Same problem with massive track counts. It's just stupid.

Ableton really should make a Features Request forum.

imo, ableton should make a feature request forum, where they actually
read the topics..
