Grew up here (Sandusky, OH). Pretty boring for the most part:

It has the best amusement park in the world (Cedar Point) so that helped a lot as a kid:

And the islands just north of the coast are a well-hidden paradise for the surrounding towns and cities around Lake Erie (e.g. lots of bars, boats and boobs):

Now I live in Chicago:

And the river on St. Patty's Day:

I live right by this little field:

BUT... if home is where the heart is, then there's no doubt that my home is in Aguadilla, on the west coast of Puerto Rico.
I love aguadilla! Some of the most beautiful surfing I've ever had was at Wilderness. I miss the food too. the only downside is the giant planes landing 24hrs a day.

this is near my house..

Yeah no doubt, Wilderness is a special, special place. So pristine, so unadultered, it has almost kind of a mystical feel to it.

I have great memories of my teens and early 20's surfing there. :)

I've totally lost it, since i moved to the states though. Been quite a while since i got on a surfboard. I think last time i attempted to go surfing was around january, during my winter break visit to PR, and the last time before that was... whooooooo... long-ass time ago. Over a year, maybe even close to 2. I was WAY too out of it. Could barely paddle, and I ate it on every single wave i caught. Was kind of embarrassing

btw, what's that point that you posted there, that's not steamer lane is it? Apologies in advance for the ignorance, i only know cali surf spots from pictures in magazines. Never been there myself
