Here's the situation. I had the Comcast tech put the modem in bridge mode disabling its wifi and then I plugged my Airport. The Airport wouldn't get a signal from the modem so I had them take it out of bridge mode and we are now using the modem's wifi.

My iPad is working fine and I don't have the cellular turned on. Also my Apple TV works fine.

One of my main concerns is there are known issues with Yosemite and wifi and there's going to be a "not our fault" volley at some point.

I'll try changing the router name and see if that helps.

On a related note, when I called about issues with my cable box which turned out to be some bonehead shit on my end, before I even spoke to a tech the automated bot said it detected some possible wiring issues and I should schedule a tech to come out. Really, before I even speak to anybody?!?! Is that why we pay so much for cable, because they are dispatching techs that don't need to be sent out?? You know how many people probably just go ahead and do that without speaking to anybody first?! :x

So I started using the new Photos cloud feature. Auto-uploads your photos from all your idevices and macs to the cloud and then you can view them all on your idevices and Macs without having them on any of the drives. Have to be connected to a network of course.

You can also set it up to automatically reduce the file size on your drive saved pics to save space. The photos in the cloud will still be full resolution. Great feature for those who have small drives on their idevices and find themselves running low on space because they are taking pictures of every damn thing.

You can also access all your photos on icloud.com and if you delete photos on there it will automatically delete the saved copies on your idevices and Macs. Another great feature for getting rid of stupid pictures in a single swoop.

Really like it so far, but I am also not a big photo taking person. But I also don't understand why this didn't exist like 5 years ago. :x

My first thought is clicking that link completely froze my work computer so I have no idea what it’s really about.

My second thought is I already see Apple Watch fanboys soiling themselves over the apps being released for the watch even though early reviews are the existing third party apps are SHIT.

My third thought is Apple wants as many app developers on board as possible so maybe the 5% of apps that are actually worth a shit inspire more people to buy an Apple Watch.

FFS.

I’m a little :? at all the celebrities and fashionistas that Apple is just throwing Apple Watches at. They’ve never needed this kind of endorsement by association with any of their past products. Seems like a desperate Samsung type move.

The article was pointing out that google's reaching out for more people to get drawing recognition for emojis ie someone draws a dog on the watch and it turns into a dog icon. It made me wonder if they're working together on some AI research. Apple will create the I Robot and Lexus like in Minority Report, and google will be doing the body/face/eye recognition so you're bombarded with personalized ads when you walk into an establishment. Not that that has to do with AI, but they're both going to be the ones bringing it to the masses.

One thing people might discover, after using cell phones to check the time for ages: after a decade + of not wearing a watch, when you get one again you might tend to forget it at home a lot.

Happens to me 19 times out of 20 ever since I got one of those pricey big name watches as a B-day gift. Typically the one time when I don't forget to put it on is some instance when it really doesn't matter. :D

As a word, it can mean a bug (earwig) or the front on the skull or God, or a lineage of chiefs on my island. It's also an abbreviation for 'medium' and 'length'.
In any case, if you wear one of those tight rubber swimmer caps with the word MAHA, you'll be able to tell who speaks Hawaiian from the (muffled) giggles.
