On that note, Apple Watches aren’t even available for pickup in stores until this month. Why the fuck are we already talking about the next OS?! :x

Alright so Apple Music is essentially exactly what I was asking for. The Ability to stream every song in the iTunes Store and mix it in with your owned collection. Also the ability to add songs for offline listening. So basically integrated Spotify-ish. And some other stuff in there I’m not really excited about until I test it out I guess.

Also will be interesting to see how transparent and simple it is for those of us who still like to buy music and use in third party programs. Is it going to be obvious looking at a track in iTunes that you don’t own it? Maybe some denoting icon or something.

And absolutely nothing about the Apple TV despite the biggest graphic on the WWDC banners being a big Apple TV. FFS. Somebody fucked up big time. At minimum I was hoping for one revolutionary new feature – no longer kicks you out of the Netflix app when you pause for more than 30 seconds. :x

 @ Netflix comment... I thought it was just me!

So, how much is this iTunes/Spotify radio?? I like iTunes Radio because of the short and rare commercials (vs. Pandora)... I stopped using Spotify because by the time I get done paying everyone around 8ish bucks a month the bill was too high. Kept Netflix, free subscriptioned the rest

Radio is free, but it's $9.99 for the premium version and features.

There's a 3 month free trial period. That's more than enough time to figure out if it's worth the $10 a month.

Personally I easily spend $10 a month on buying tracks I either forget about or regret buying. With on demand streaming I'll at least be able to be a little more discerning before I pull the trigger and I’ll probably buy even more since I’ll have the ability to relisten and explore the artists other tracks instead of having to make a decision in the moment the song is playing on something like Pandora.

I’ll probably even check out artists that I don’t like, not liking them has nothing to do with their music because I most likely have never heard it or much of it, but I don’t like it because I don’t like what’s being said about them on the Internet or I don’t like their stereotypical fan base. :x

My wife is always streaming Apply TV's radio, or Spotify at home. It's kind of nice how much you can rate things, but at the same time you still get stuck listening to a lot of crap too if you're not into more mainstream electronic music. Personally I'd rather donate to say SomaFM every year and know I'm hearing exactly the kind of music I want at the time.

Thank you for the SomaFM mention, it was quite a different experience to try, I never messed with Net Radio before.

What I discovered is that I'm aching badly for a Fast Forward / Next button 10 seconds max into any song. I wasn't aware of this ingrained listening habit of mine, but I apparently must quick-sample through any pile of unknown music first, only then I can settle to listening from start to end to the ones I pick this way.

I guess I'm just not a radio listener kind of guy. At least, not in the conventional sense of the word.

It just hit me, of all the Apple things I used in the many decades, the one that gave me the longest and most trouble-free service is my drinking cup.

I have an Apple sticker on my drum pad stand that has worked flawlessly since 2006.
