iPad
Re: iPad
Isn’t Microsoft’s goal to make a single OS across computer and mobile platforms? That’s pretty lofty considering they have enough issues just having Windows work well on all possible computer hardware configurations. Apple makes all their hardware and they haven’t even attempted that (yet).

Re: iPad
Well think of it like how iOs is between iPad and iPhone.
Besides the scaling aspect I would assume it only loads what it needs to load or install depending on the h/w. Even older windows would install specific drivers depending on the h/w so it doesn't sound like rocket science IN THEORY. That's not to underestimate the thousands of issues to consider; I'm a layman.

Re: iPad
Reporting in again, I've bought my second iPad, the mini this time. Locally people sell brand new ones for dirt cheap on craigslist. 128GB gold mini 3 wifi for $450. Once again, I'm not keeping it. Thought about it, but I was looking for a birthday gift for my son to be 12 years old neice and no one sells the 64GB ones new for cheap.
She would burn though the 16GB with selfies alone. Thought about keeping it but determined the mini is too small for my eyes, and this way my neice is set until she hits college at least.
One of these freaking days I will get one for myself.

Re: iPad
I find the Mini is perfect for a media streamer and for book reading or games where you use the gyroscope for movement because of the lighter weight. I’d probably use mine for a lot more but it just doesn’t seem right when I have an Air. I’m sure I’ll get another Mini if/when mine dies but it certainly isn’t an every or every other generation purchase. Rumor has it Apple might kill the line altogether. I hope not.

No. It is not.
People lost their shit over a 0.5 inch increase in cell phone screen size but then go “not much of a difference” in the 3.2 inch screen size difference between the 6 Plus and the iPad Mini. FFS.
Re: iPad
A Freudian lapse of tongue. IMHO iPhones/iPads are basically Apple's way to attract millions to a cheaper shiny product, then increase the CPU power of follow-up models until full OSX can be run. "Congratulations teaming millions, you are all Mac owners now. This IS the next Mac."robertaplant68 wrote:That reminded of the time when Jobs said "the iPhone runs OSX"
Microsoft now follows a "same OS on different devices" objective instead because Metro torpedoed their chances of emulating Apple's iBonanza. You do the opposite of Apple by screwing with your UI, you'll reap the opposite of Apple's in your sales results. Simple enough. It's OK, they'll stop it any decade now.

I almost kept the one I found, my family thinks it's far too much for a little kid, but it will last her until college.beats me wrote:I find the Mini is perfect for a media streamer and for book reading or games where you use the gyroscope for movement because of the lighter weight. Mainly I can justify the iPad as a device to do daily expenses with on the go in my car. I'm near sighted, but I still think it's a bit small for that.

How the fuck can Ive look at the popup menus in iOS 8 and think they are acceptable to his obsessive aesthetic compulsion? They look like some backend database that the end user shouldn’t have access to.

If you use Flipboard I highly recommend following Music Production Tracker by DJ Curly_Alan. It’s a good mix of music software, hardware, and artist articles. He updates it frequently, and good luck trying to find anything useful by trying to follow a general music production algorithm. It’s too general and niche a term for the algorithm to aggregate things you would want to read.

That's it, I have a disability. It's called asumorectusPCIpectoa. The inability to buy the correct PCI card in spite of having duly looked at the mobo and read its specs.
The last 2 times I thought it's just bad luck or a shipping mix-up, but with 3 cases out of 3 now, it's definitely permanent and mental.
