I don’t think it’s even because then the average rating would be 2.5 stars. The average is usually 3.5 stars or above so the default 5 star people are winning. Then of course there are people just tossing up ratings reviews based on their love/hate of the artist or the genre in general. Those are equally as (un)helpful.

i get annoyed with the product reviews that are raised or lowered based on how fast/successful the shipping of the product was. :x

don't get me wrong, i get it to some extent when you ordered from... THE MANUFUCKINGFACTURER... and the shipping was delayed at the warehouse... ok... BUT when you ordered from Dick's Bargain Shit and you're reviewing the product made by a separate company based on the performance of Dick's staff, then you're the dick. rate/review Dick... talk about how much you feel about Dick on the site dedicated to Dick and Dick's delivery. dick.

Apple rumored to announce the 12.9” iPad at next week’s keynote which will be a welcome change to their iPhone/iPad spec bump announcements over the past couple years. Lighter and thinner has also grown tiresome.

I’ll probably also jump on the new Apple TV regardless of what it has or doesn’t have because I’m still on a second gen. Rumored upgrades include an app store and new remote with Siri support that will work like a Wii controller for games and a universal search that will find content beyond just iTunes (guess somebody at Apple bought a Roku box). If nothing else, the GUI is long overdue for a reworking. But most entertainment GUIs are shit and samey. Hopefully Apple will innovate in that department too.

It would be interesting if they don't announce a new iPad Air. It would probably steer more people towards buying the new larger iPad for those who have to make a purchase every damn Apple keynote.

What if they also reduce the price on the current iPad Air. 8O Might make sense if they are announcing a larger iPad and still want to tout high sales for the Air in the near future. General declining sales also means they probably have plenty they are sitting on.

I'm still on an Air 1 and really nothing could really inspire me to buy a new one until this one starts choking, except maybe lowering the price. 8O

Not sure why they would make a larger iPad if it still uses iPad apps / iOS.

The apps are kind of developed for the standard and the mini to begin with. Now you'll just have those apps blown up on a larger screen.

The 'pro' that people have been demanding is a tablet with their standard OS. When you reach the 13" market, you're hitting laptop territory.

There could be apps formatted and optimized for the larger iPad just like there are already different versions for iPhone and iPad.

I highly doubt its going to be OSX on a tablet. That would just screw things up too much with what Apple has to offer and people making decisions on what to buy. I think if that ever happens then its going to be OSX on every device Apple sells.

:? i thought this was actually a common goal of Apple, Microsoft, and pretty much any software producing company that has anything that comes in 4 (current) versions or more.

no seriously, isn't that the one thing they all have in common? :x

This is where I think Microsoft’s lag assing has an advantage trying to unify an OS. They don’t have a massive user base to deal with. Think of all the time and money people have spent on iOS apps. Are those going to be useless or less than ideal on a new touch OSX?

And as much as Cook has repeatedly kicked Jobs’ ideals out the door, I still believe he’ll stand behind the fact that a touch screen app needs to be optimized for touch screens. I gag every time I read about a Windows touch screen user trying to convince themselves a desktop app that works unreliably on a touch screen is a great user experience. Way to set the bar low and hold back development because Microsoft has zero standards or expectations on this. :x

iElectribe is available as a new app for iPhone. Unfortunately they did not make the original app 'universal', so it'd be 9.99 (current price at 50% off) to add it to your collection.

For those who do Not yet own iElectribe on the iPad, this is darn near close to the original -minus the tube (this emulates an older electribe than the iPad app does).

So for $10, you could get this on the iPhone, and still put it on your iPad... It won't be full screen, but still looks and feels great to use.

Also, these apps support the nanoKontrol midi controller :)

Any reason to choose iElectribe over Gadget other than price and nostalgia?

For the most part, no.

I'd say Gadget is best as a composition tool, where as the Electribe is a performance tool.

The Electribe has quick pattern recall, but the patterns are restricted to simple bleepy bloody drum patterns. And you can't really substitute any sounds.

Gadget is infinitely more powerful, with a note sequencer instead of a step sequencer. It can also load samples and do polyphonic synthesis/sample playing, along with having support for modules from other apps.

But if you have a spare nanoKontrol and an iPhone or two, Gadget is not available on the iPhone :P also supports WIST (not that WIST is all that great)

Loos like you can also do it from the iElectribe apps too. Didn't know that.
