The iPad came out 5 years ago. It boggles my mind how many sites still don’t work well on it, especially when video playback is involved (of course the ad video works flawlessly but not the actual video you want to see). At this point its not ignorance, its willful negligence.

Apple may be releasing a gold version of the base Apple Watch. So at a glance you won’t be able to tell the difference between the $350 Apple Watch and the $10,000 Apple Watch. Literally the frame metal is the only thing that sets them apart.

A propos, is there a way to save an Orbit trackball whose ball is so worn out, its moves are skittery? (One can't move the cursor smoothly anymore, whatever coating the ball had for smooth gliding is mostly worn away.) Did someone try some spray on lacquer on the ball yet that solved this?

(Yes, I'm familiar with the usual trackball bane, gunk piled up on sensors, I clean that about every week. This seems to be a different matter, genuine wear.)

iPad Pro not coming out until November. Sweet. Plenty of time to think about it.

I wonder if you'll be able to run all current iPad synths and other music apps in native resolution side by side with iPad Pro.

Would be cool to have full size Thor or Gadget with Audiobus at the same time.

More importantly, it would suck if all current apps would have to be updated or reprogrammed with iPad Pro in mind (if the developers even bother to do it).

My plan B would have been to just get an updated regular iPad Air 2 or the the iPad Air 2 at a reduced price but neither seems to be an option.

I totally forgot they are announcing a new iPhone today. Because I don't care.

I like OneRepublic. Having said that, Apple once again closes with an Alt Rock band, quite possibly the least relevant genre today.

I know there are a lot of young people working at Apple but it seems when it comes to entertainment PR Apple is all "shut up and let the adults talk".
