Still don't know why AirPlay is so godsendy, but whatevs. Apple failed to implement this on the old Apple TV which I've concluded they just abandoned. But if all your content is already accessible on your Apple TV from your computer, most likely the same computer you sync your idevice to, then why the fuck would you need to stream it from the idevice?!?
.

Dude, seriously?
You've taken video or bought some iTunes music or just snapped some pics and want to watch them/ listen on your AppleTV or device connected to an Airport Express. With AirPlay, no need to sync with iTunes to load that shit into your library first. Do you not see the value?..?
Or, in my earlier case, my main router with net connection is up in the attic. Too far for a reliable connection down on the first floor or basement. Now I just use my spare router on the 1st floor and send my tunes directly from a device. No need to even have my 1st floor computer on and running iTunes. Just the router needs to be on.
MOTHERFUCKINGWIN!!!!!!!

Here's the big question as denoted by all caps: WHY THE FUCK NOT ALLOW THE SAME KIND OF STREAMING TO ANY COMPUTER THAT HAS ITUNES OPEN ON THE SAME NETWORK?? There's way more homes and offices that have multiple computers with iTunes on them all over the building than Apple TVs. iTunes already allows wireless sharing of multiple libraries by different users so why not this? It really wouldn't be that hard to implement.
But I'll tell you why. Steve thinks that at $99 Apple TVs are going to have a place in every room with a TV like cable boxes and DVD players. If they opened wireless streaming from any idevice to any computer with iTunes than people wouldn't be motivated to buy more Apple TVs. It's the goddamn truth.
I'll comment more on your other points later but right now I'm just proud of the above statement I made.

You are right; by all accounts Apple TV is failing miserably … again. Sales have dropped 70% after the first month’s release. Apple is trying to salvage it by tacking on these foolish errr.. “magical” add-on’s.
Apple TV needs to play nice with the industry and hook in to some TV manufactures if they want it to survive.

I don't know about Apple TV sales statistics, but I am a little miffed at Steve abandoning updates to the earlier adopters of his "pet project" that was up to 4 times more expensive than the current version, and then touting AirPlay like it's this all encompassing breakthrough when all it really does is stream content to an Apple TV (and audio to an Airport Express, pffft.)
Another thing AirPlay should do is stream content wirelessly from your iTunes library to your idevice. Third party apps can already do this, but why not Apple? Oh, I'll tell you why (AGAIN). When the next generation iPads come out with 256GB drives there won't be a big motivation to buy the larger drive version if you can stream all your content instead of having it on the drive. The only other motivating force would be app developers making a lot of apps that have a huge file size. Right now there are only a few that touch or go beyond the 500 MB mark, but I'm sure that number will grow with more graphically intensive games.

because they're still trying to figure out how to repackage, polish and pawn it off for more money on those who love the logo. Steve has already contacted a Creole witch doctor who will be performing the ritual on the developers of those 3rd party apps in retaliation. have your wallet ready. a
solution and subsequent thread from LSZ praising it will be here before you know it.

because you can't stream your shit to iTunes which would make sense but there's no money in that !"

Let's talk dating site apps for a minute here, not which ones are great or which ones to use, but since women are made of 10% water and 90% insecurity fibers don't you think there's already enough of an obstacle course you have to navigate without them seeing you have a dating site app on your idevice they most likely will be getting their hands on at some point? Doesn't matter if that is how you met. You should have deleted that app the second you went out for the first time.
Discuss. Or maybe not if she reads this forum.

i've only dated one chick that i met online. it was on myspace in its hay day about 4 years ago... i will not do that again. She's definitely a hypochondriac and the last time we were together she freaked and hid in her room (at her apt) for 2 weeks (literally) was after i dislocated my knee - in other words: when i really needed some support from a girlfriend type person - more so than her bi-weekly migraine scenario. i believe wholeheartedly that she is a serial get it going just right and then bury my head in the sand and pretend it never happened... until i'm lonely/horney again - freak. She got me twice with that ostrich routine.

she was hot (as in people pay to take her picture hot)... so after some time passed i took her back after the first round. the 2nd time (with the busted knee) she ended up hooking up with another dude from myspace... from Sweden. which is exactly why internet daters creep me out. its not fucking shopping with in store credit or a great return policy. its 100% Organic - human beings. so now i get an email from her about once every 8 or 9 months. i'm convinced that its every time she freaks out and breaks up (hides from) another guy. i got one just last week. she's in Slovakia

and will be "coming back to the bay area in 2011". Hmmm...
so is this email to sess out whether or not you want to pretend to care again??... the creepiest part about this song and dance routine to me is wondering: does she send out emails to all her ex-boyfriends or am i just special? - don't answer that.
anyway, hot or not... chicks that are addicted to facebook phone apps and such are classed right above chicks that wear too much make-up in my book and both fall under the umbrella of - not-to-be-trusted.
