Hi Guys,

first of all, i wanna apologize for my engish..

I'm using the demo version of Live, and i was trying to assign midi controls from my DJM 700 through my Native instrument's Audio Kontrol 1 to my MacBookPro.
I opened Live, did the set up; midi input preferences are set to ON, but no midi signal recognition in Ableton. I made the Midi Monitor's test, and it was showing that everything's working perfectly.

Could u help me guys to find a solution? I want to buy Live for my Dj sets but couldn't make it work..

ThanX

Hi and welcome!

Are you getting any midi at all into Live? i.e. if you move a control on the DJM, does the midi-in light in the top right corner of Live flash?

Which of the Input Preferences are set to On? In order to play notes you need to turn on "Track", in order to control GUI elements you need to turn on "Remote".

I've tried al possibilities: track on/off sync on/off remote on/off and EXT on/off..

in the upper fields of he control interface or whatever, doesn't show DJM 700 in the list, maybe it's because of this no? I chose none as name, Audio Kontrol 1 as midi in
and Audio Kontrol 1 as midi out/none, abut no life signal from the djm..
Even the time clock thing doesn't work!

Hy guy.

Sorry i'm french.
I' got a DJM 700.

Did you start sending midi signal?

On the top right of the mixer, you've got Midi On/off and Start/Stop.
Hit the midi on/ off, and the display should write midi on.

Then go to ableton, open midi prefs panel (CMD + M)
Then clik whatever command you want and try mooving one button on the djm700?

I found a guide on the pioneer forum, let's search on google DJM 800 midi ableton (i'm not sure).
Eventually, if i can get an hand on this pdf, i may be able to share.

Let me know if this helps.

I'm sure the OP would have been grateful for your help, but this thread is from 2008.

I hope the OP has his problem sorted by now ;)
