ableton live , maudio duo/quattro soundcard and windows xp

i am just about to buy a laptop and get ableton live, but i have read a couple of posts that says ableton wont work with the quattro soundcard and win xp.
has anyone any experience of this or anything similar....cheers

I had problems with audio dropout using the Quattro with XP which made it unworkable. Had a number of conversations with Midiman tech support but nothing cured the problem. Alex at Ableton knows about this problem and has been in touch with Midiman. However that was a while ago and he did not reply to my last email on what progress has been made. I installed Win98SE which works fine.

I too was thinking about the quattro...does any one else have input on this card used with Live?
