there was too many sufficient people on it, that didn't want to help, they nearly always answered "read the manual", or "no no no, there is no bug on mine, so you are wrong, not the virus", "it is your system, all is fine on mine", etc etc.
I went on this forum when I acquired the Ti, but I soon went off, feeling I wasn't welcome with my questions and bugs that people didn't want to hear about, nor trying to help.
I guess they closed the forum so as they don't have to discuss with people having problems or questions... so that they don't be disturbed by noobs, or easy questions...
I won't miss it !!!!

out of interest, how good is the virus TI ?. How many instances of the plugin can you use and such. Thinking of getting the film company i work for to buy one for me for the next film

I think it's a great synth. I consider it a must-have. It's not the be all, end all of synths, but it comes pretty close to it and goes well with all of the other irreplaceable synths.
You can only have one instance of the plug-in at any given time, but you have full control over the entire synth. You can easily access all 16 channels, change their outputs and paramaters... all with just a couple of clicks. Browsing and loading patches is a breeze, also. Although, editing and programming with the mouse still isn't as fun as using the hardware interface, all in all... the overall ease of use makes it really hard to go back to fully using the hardware interface.
If you're interested more in seeing how well it can be used for film, read Hans Zimmer's interview on the Access website. Apparently, he uses 2 of them now.

but just don't get seduced by marketing b***shit
1800 oscillators
That's utter crap.
16 midi channels - yes, but about four playable at a time
and read critically the still remaining forum for flaws, unless they don't matter to you now
IMHO what today's VST offer surpasses virus hands down: versatility, definition, stability, functionality, daw integration, but yes, audition the demoes - you may badly need your tunes to also feature THIS flavour.
virusti forum, funny thing when you posted a link to infekted forum, the address was replaced by something like "yet another boring forum".

maybe 4 playable at a time if you are doing massive trance leads with supersaws/reverbs/delays etc... it works like a treat for me and many others since the 2.7 OS, I'm not sure why you're so bitter against it

Just an honest warning of an ex v2.x user
And advice to read between the lines of marketing jargon and enthusiastic opinions of internet folks. The synth is expensive, so a conscious decision may be priceless.
That "now it finally works" I read even about v1.1hotfix, but of course I am glad you are happy with your virus.
Me, after a 12 month epizode w/virus I went software and as I have said I think it was a very good move. See Native Instruments forum, how many ppl bitch on their synths. Ten ? Maybe. Haven't counted.
virusti was flushed at least twice thus being cleared of dozens of literally hateful posts.
Was it conspiracy?
Why bitterness against virus and not massive, or zebra, or sylenth? Let me give you a hint: it has to do with marketing honesty, and product reliability.
Peace.

Unfortunately only one instance

but you can play up to 4 parts with the Snow, though so far ive just been sticking with one. I am pretty sure the other TI models can play more than 4.
Another thing that kinda sucks with the plugin is that you can't freeze or flatten the track, everything has to be in realtime(I.E record audio on separate track). All that aside i still love the synth

16 parts for all TI's but the Snow... and no hardware synths can 'flatten' or freeze tracks offline that I know of?
