Automatisation of Clipstart

I have seen that one can assign a Midi Control to the Starting Point of Clip (both Wave or Midi) and the scrub through the Clip (the global quantizations should be lowered to 1/16). This creates very funny breaks, so why can't I record my movements of the Midi Input?

Should be implemented in Version 8.0 :!:

Good, good.

Hah! I was thinking about the same thing last night! :D

I'd like to expand a bit on this thought, though: I would absolutely love the possibility of
setting up a controller button to scrub a) individual clips and b) all playing clips: press the
button, and the clip(s) jump(s) backwards, according to your global quantization setting. Press
and hold, and the same thing repeats until you release the button (this would of course require
a controller that can send different values on press and release). Oh, and what would be extra
cool is if you could also set up a rotary controller to move the scrub locator back and forth
while you keep the aforementioned button pressed!!!
If you have record enabled, this whole performance would be recorded as new clips in Arrangement,
on the individual tracks.

The only way to achieve anything remotely similar today, is by mapping a button to the start
marker in Arrangement, but if you want to record the result as new clips on the individual tracks,
you're buggered (as usual, I have to add "unless I've missed something").

This would make an awesome performance tool for Live!
