Help with Evolution UC-33e Mapping

Hey everyone, I need some help here!

This is the first time I am using this Evolution UC-33e, and the first time I am connecting any midi device to use with Live.

The unit is working and sending midi signals to the computer, I actually just used MIDI-OX to verify this. The problem is, now that I have finally gotten Live to recognize the UC-33e, the only thing that I am getting any kind of real response out of are 2 volume sliders. It seems like those may have been preset or something.

I have gone into midi map mode, and it LOOKS like all I should have to do is select a control within Live that I want the device to control, and then move that knob/slider and it should map to that knob? But it does absolutely nothing!!

The midi in light goes on when I move a knob, but it does not assign the control. What am I doing wrong here? Is there some kind of preset map that is available, or something? I really don't see why presets would help in Live since everyone uses it differently, but this is frustrating! I must be doing something wrong, any insight would be valuable! Thanks for your help in advance :)

in lives preferences in the MIDI tab, have you enabled remote for the UC_33?

cheers

Also - try using preset 17 in the UC-33e. This is set-up for using with Live.

Thanks, I ended up figuring it out that night. All I needed to do was enable "Remote" as was mentioned above. Then I was able to map everything exactly how I wanted. I hate presets, especially within something like Live, which is much more customizable than most other programs.

Thanks!
