Anyone have experience with these filters? The Akai is a little more expensive. Worth it?
Or option C - get neither and keep using Autofilter in Live?

I've owned the Akai and it was great, but I can't really say it's better than this or that. I like the free Ohmboys filter. I like autofilter. But sure there's a certain feel to that analogue hardware. How much are they going for these days? Is it worth it?

The Filter Factory goes for about $200 and the Akai for about $300-$350. What would you pay for the Akai?

I have mine already a long time. Building quality is suberb. The filter is soooo sweeet. Distortion is a little bit less. But I really love this piece of gear. Go for it.

filter factory is good. It can seriously fuck up your monitors if you're not smooth with it. I had one when it first came out. along with mofx. I liked the mofx better.

The waldorf 4 pole is also a nice one, if you can get one
Or the mutronics mutator:
Or the sherman
Or the tidal:
or the jomox:

The Mutator and Sherman are out of my price range. Tell me more about the Jomox, please. Is it just a low pass filter?

my friend just got an m-resonator and it can do some seriously out of control sounds. operates as a good straight filter when need be, but can get crazy with the envelope triggering and fm and stuff. i've ordered a t-resonator as i like how that can get even more out of control!! depends on what you need though...

T-Resonator getting much use round these parts. Hearing it a lot I think on recent IMPS and Minilogue releases too, burbling, whistling and echoing away.

Okay, so now I'm more interested in the Jomox M Resonator. Can anyone speak to its basic usefulness as a filter vs. a distortion box or crazy effects generator. I'm wondering how subtle it can be.

I don't know if software is an option for you but Fabfilter Volcano 2 killed my desire for a hardware filter box.
