Reminder: BACK UP YOUR DATA!

5 months ago, I replaced the hard drive in my Mac Book with one of the newer Hitachi 200gb 7200 rpm SATA drives. It was nice and fast and big, like me.
A few days ago, I got the dreaded "White screen of death" upon boot. It took a few tries to restart, but it eventually did. I immediately backed everything up to my external drive. Yesterday, the thing completely took a shit. I can't get it to do anything. It failed all the tests I threw at it, and my Windows box gives errors.
Dead drive? No problem, I've got a BACKUP!

Also, the drive is still under Hitachi's warranty. So in a week I'm going to have a brand new drive and all my data intact. All I have to do when I get the replacement is pop the drive in, install software, and drag/drop all my crap.
So let this be a reminder...
BACKUP YOUR DATA!!!

Thanks for the reminder - been so busy with new tunes and gigs lately I just realised I didn't back up for nearly a month!
First thing when I get home!

i never back anything up.
i like the danger of losing everything and then having to start again, i usually also bin all my .wavs and stuff which really annoys my record label.
the way i see it is, when it's finished - it's finished, i need never look at it again.

I so need to get a new drive
I do back up my music directories and stuff up regularly but I am scared if my drive went and I had to reinstall stuff on a new drive I wont get everything back to how it was

since I found a copy of Acronis Image 9 lying there in the office I took it and installed on my lappie, so evey month or after major changes in the system -which I rarely do anyway- I'll do a complete image of the main HD and I do incremental backups of my tracks folder every friday night.

Anybody using Windows; with the current state of IE better have a backup, unless you like starting over.

no backups here... per se: Just TONS of redundant duplicate copies (geddit?) spread across a ton of disks and ftp addresses.
Burn my house down? Sure, I bet I have the files online somewhere, haha!
(I kid though, I'm building a NAS and keeping that off-site, bitches!)

what are you on about? Anyone who has the brains to do a backup has the brains to not use IE, haha.
