Faderfox LC2 Problems

Hello,

Just recently purchased a brand new faderfox but at the moment I am having some major problems setting it up. Apparently after setting it up under the preferences tab in Live, the device is still not recognized as the lamp next to the "D" is not on as I am getting no midi input. When I am in midi map, none of the buttons work, neither does the cross fader on the LC2. Any ideas?

I am using Live 7.0.3, one midi usb port and the faderfox. Nothing complicated but it has been driving me absolutely insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

LC2 has native support in Live 7 (as of 7.0.2 I believe) so there shouldn't be any need to midi map it.

I would update to latest version of Live anyway (7.0.14 is available now):

http://www.ableton.com/download-live?v=full

Make sure you have midi in on your interface connected to midi out on the LC2 and out on your interface connected to in on the LC2.

In ableton's midi preferences, under Control surface 1, select the Faderfox option ("LV2 LC2 LD2 LX2" or similar - sorry I'm at work ATM) and set your interface as the input and output.

Under midi ports set the input and output for your interface to Track, Sync and Remote all ON.

Ok , now the device is finally showing midi input (sorry , complete noob here  )....

Now that this is configured, (say I would like to slide the crossfader on the faderfox), I'm not getting any visual input of the Live crossfader moving as well. If it is already mapped by default why is it not repsonding? Do I need to set this up myself?....(or maybe I'm not understanding the concept of "native support")

Fix found....

midi usb cable was absolute garbage, once put thru an external sound card, everything was fine.
