Recording midi sequence Data from MPC 2000XL

Anyone have advice on recording my sequence data into Ableton 7. I can get Midi messages from individual pad hits easily, but cannot find the right combination of settings for recording the actual sequence data onto Drum Rack track.
Is this even possible? I sure hope so. Thanks guys.
