How do you do it? Basically I should be recording the output of the soundcard right?

ok did it now. there is a free "youtube to mp3 converter", you can google it, but I think despite their claims its adware. I´ve had some virus alerts since I installed it, but suspect it comes from another attack.
EDIT: This is indeed spyware.

Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder!
Just make sure in windows volume control record is set to "Wave out".

with ASIO4ALL (PC only) I can run two soundcards at once. so, my laptop sound card plays youtubes which I open as a track in Live, which is using my USB soundcard as the output. with this I can record youtubes.
btw adding "&fmt=18" makes youtubes hi-def, if available.
