just got a second hand portastudio 414 mkII off ebay. very good condition, and i can't wait to get using, but i'd like to give the insides a bit of clean before i start recording (cleaning the heads etc.)

i've tried googling some cleaning instructions for the portastudio on google but not getting much luck.

thought someone here might have a few tips

on the resources tab you can download the manual which has a section
on care and maintenance.

i'd also clean the heads with a cotton bud and head-cleaning fluid.

also have a look at http://homerecording.com/caring.html

make sure to use the long lintless cotton buds specifically made for the task
