Weird Saffire LE Routing issue

Hi all,

I am having a really annoying problem with my new Saffire LE soundcard.....

When I first connected it worked fine with my DJM800 mixer simulating two channels in Live as decks and playing these out of channels 3 & 4 of the mixer, then I stupidly opened the saffire user interface and all hell has broken loose !

Basically I route Live out of outputs 3/4 and 5/6 to the outputs of my soundcard from channels 3 & 4 on the DJM800 to replicate two decks and basically when I select a track on the first deck in Live (output 3/4)no audio comes through channel 3 on the mixer but audio is coming from output 5/6 / channel 4 of the DJM800 - i.e. audio bleeding.

I basically set up a track in live and it comes out of the wrong channel in the mixer and can be heard by plugging my headphones into the outputs of 5/6 on the soundcard

I have gone through this at length with the shop that I bought the card from and they have replicated the problem also

Can anyone else share similar experiences and obviously any remedies, Focusrite are on holiday until the 5th which doesn't help.

Thanks in advance

Hi Paulm72,

the routing in the Saffire Control LE software might appear a but confusing at first. I am not sure how you have currently set up the faders in the Control LE software, but I would recommend to toggle between Track and S/Card mode (by clicking the corresponding buttons) first to see, if that solves the problem.

Best,
Jörg

Thanks for the advice though sadly still the same issue - audio coming out of outputs 5/6 when playing a clip routed to 3/4 :?:

Any help much appreciated, although I suspect the soundcard isn't working correctly

just tried here. works fine if set to 's/card' mode, but when in 'track' mode it does bleed. 'track' mode is only of use for direct monitoring of incoming audio and has no real use for djing in Live, so just stick with 's/card' mode.

Thanks Gary,

Would you mind posting a screen dump of the saffire GUI to see what you've set up ?

If I can copy your settings I should be able to prove the fault ?

Are you connecting the soundcard outputs to 3/4 & 5/6 ?

Any guidance appreciated

Regards
Paul

yea i set it up just as you explained; 2 tracks in Live, track one to outs 3/4, track 2 to outs 5/6. no bleeding when in 's/card' mode, bleeding when in 'track' mode.
here's a pic of the saffire editor:

not sure how it will help though, as just selecting 's/card' sets all the faders etc automatically, and there's no way to save fader settings in the editor anyway.
if this doesnt help and yours still bleeds, then yea - go give focusrite some shit :)
