MP3 into Ableton Live Lite?

I just got Ableton Live Lite as part of a Line 6 POD Studio UX1 package. I want to import an old track I recorded live and converted to mp3. I've tried dragging it into live and I've tried searching using the folder thingys (sorry, completely new to this). I want to bring it in so that I can add a bass line and maybe a drum track. Can anyone tell me how I can do this?

Welcome to the forums!
It might be that the lite version does not have mp3 support. See if you can convert your mp3 to wav or aiff before you import into Live.

Just to make sure we're on the same track. Rubber5oul is talking about "lite" not "LE". So the big comparison chart is no clue. But this can be found further down the page:
Live Lite versions vary in terms of their features in order to best suit the hardware they are bundled with, but generally feature a maximum of 8 tracks.

Live Lite 6 definitely did not support MP3s. There's a Live Lite 7 comparison chart
here, though I can't look at it as you need to log in and have a registered copy of Live Lite 7.

Thanks for this - I just checked that chart and mp3 isn't supported in Lite 7. Bummer.

So, is there any other way to import a track? If I convert to WAV would that maybe work? WAV isn't mentioned on the chart, it only says mp3, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC are not supported.

Yeah, WAV should be fine with Lite.
