New Age/Soundscape Track

This is my first song I've ever really composed, and it took me awhile to get down. I've always enjoyed electronica music, but as of late I started delving into new-age and soundscape productions.

So, I went out on a limb and have done something I've never really done before and created this piece as a Christmas present for someone.

I have absolutely no musical training at all, and what I've learned is from trial-and-error, mostly. I've picked up a few pieces of material in regards to music production with electronic musicians in mind, and I'm learning a lot from it (have been at it for a few months now, but never really produced anything worthwhile).

Anyway.

It's a free-improvisational piece, and I have no background in piano performances. I sat down, cracked my fingers, and started to play away on the keyboard for about ~10 minutes. Thank god for live, as I was able to go in and chop up certain parts that I did and did not like in the piano melody - but overall I feel that the song has an amateur polish to it, and I would like to improve on it.

I wanted something elegant, yet simple - but I think this is a bit too simple, and I feel that I went up and down a few octaves more than I should with a linear approach.

Any input is appreciated! Here's the link:

I didn't program any sounds other than a few minute adjustments here and there.

May it put you to sleep.

Very well done track mate, dreamy, relaxing, spacious, and had an all around good mix.

Keep practicing, and watch brand new worlds of sound open up for you, as time goes by.

It will be an exciting journey...

Cheers Mate

Thanks, guys! :) I'm glad you were able to enjoy it.

I guess my inner-artist is being too judgmental.

Why do you think it's new age? I disagree with you

Nice! Bit like Bartok meets Satie at Vangelis' studio and they all had a relaxing herbal tea... :)
