So, what should I put on maxforlive.com?

Seems the new Live 8 share stuff takes care of trading MFL patches and the forum will take care of discussion (hopefully there will be a new forum on the ableton community page)

So then, what would you put on maxforlive.com? A wiki maybe?

I've got to admire your quick thinking on that one!

Quick off the mark indeed!

Hrm.

I could always put a shopping cart up to enable users to sell their own live devices, now that you can make them.

So rather than share them in the live community, you could, if you wanted, sell more involved ones on maxforlive.com

Hrm.

So far Wiki is winning.

No clue if there's much of a 'portal' type site planned for some of the things that will be floating around. Something with a good system for cataloging Max objects, rating them, tracking downloads and updates, some news-digest entries on a front page.

Wikis are cool but not really as spontaneous as forum posting. Good forums will populate much, much faster (and by good, the big things imo are a good layout of sub-forums, and also merciless moderation to keep signal to noise ratio down), and they're much more interactive.

I agree but I don't see the point in making a forum when we are all already reading these.

So I'm looking for something that is not already better done at ableton.com itself.

Why not a dedicated community?
DJs have ALDJ. What about MFL for Max For Live developers?

The ALDJ forum is needed because the ableton forums don't provide a dedicated forum on that.

But if they did add a "DJ" forum under Forum Index, it wouldn't be needed.

So if Ableton adds a "Max for Live" forum under the index I think it's a waste of maxforlive.com to have a forum there.

But if they don't... then it makes perfect sense.
