I have a boxed suite 7. Because of paying to customs extra $300 every time I get a box, I want to upgrade to 8 downloadable version.

Now will I be able to upgrade to 9 boxed from there (once I move to another country - going to happen pretty soon) or will I be stuck with the downloadable versions only?

yeah that's how it works. You can buy the box with printed manual and stickers separately. Go to the Merchandise page in the online shop.

Printed manual is worth every cent imo. I don't like reading books from computer screens.

Pain awesome! It wasn't obvious, but I guess I get how it works now.

So I upgrade to Suite 8 Downloadable when it comes out. Then (if I need and can) I can purchase the Box with the manual and sound libraries on disks additionally. If not for version 8, I can do this for version 9 or upgrade right to Suite 9 Boxed to get both downloadable files and the box.

This all is very well thought out! I love it.

Btw, the upgrade pricing looks pretty high, but it's a fair price I must say given the features they push into 8.
