Another question if anyone would know the answer.

Can the APC send standard note data?

(for triggering Impulse/Artillery 2)

I am curious to know the physical dimensions of the APC 40. I haven't found those listed anywhere yet.

Right now, it looks like a very attractive new toy.

from the looks of it in the sonicstate video, it's only a little bigger than Akai's new MPK25... if that helps. I'm gonna guess and say it's about 19-20" wide x 10-12" deep x 2-2.5" tall at knobs. i don't think that's overly huge at all. you could easily find a gear bag that it could fit in.

That's what I was thinking as well; it definitely looks to be a nice handy size.

It uses a fixed set of midi messages and there will be no editor to change those on the device itself - in order to play around with it you would use Max for Live to translate the messages to whatever you need.
There's no midi chart available yet, but the button matrix uses note messages - but don't ask me about the ranges etc.

The top is 42cm wide, it is 33,5cm deep and the height is around 6,5cm aka it is pretty much backpack compatible.

It may not be exact to every millimeter as this is no spec sheet info but freshly reverse engineered the old school on the device itself way using a ruler.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Dom.

Regarding dimensions. Just to put it into perspective for anyone else.

MPD32 DIMENSIONS
385 x 300 x 73 mm

APC40 DIMENSIONS
420 x 335 x 65 mm

In other words, the APC is about an inch wider, and an inch deeper than the MPD32, for those familiar with it.

Will the APC40 be able run the type of apps that monome uses i e like the step sequencers etc etc. I see n the lights in the APC40 in the demo vid on the ableton site running through a sequence of lights. It doesnt talk about this sequence of lights in the video though ? / ?
I,m thinking max will be able to do this ? ?
